Divine_Hero
I'm debating on which Chaotic to get next. I've been wanting the CKS, but was told not to get it for a while. I then thought I should get the CS, which, since it's mage, it has no real use other than pvp, which is what I'd like to use it for, and for other things when combined with the Surgebox. Then there is the Rapier, which, since I already have the CLS, seems a bit out of the question. Which one should I get? ~I am a true Hero.~
Zaaps1
rapier, lol you shouldn't be using a cls ~It's Super Effective! I chose the CLS for this reason. What I'm asking is not CLS or CR, it's which next, aside from Rapier. ~I am a true Hero.~
AHappySeeker
Maul does more DPS vs Graar than a CLS. You got GFed by misinformation.
Quyneax
Storm of Armadyl would be higher dps again if you have the gear to use it, don't need chaotics for that. Chaotic-wise, rapier is the most useful, cls the least, as you want maul for Graardor/Zilyana and rapier for K'ril/tds/glacors (staff for glacors crossbow for Nex). AHappySeeker
Is soa actually viable for soloing without virtus? Tbh, I think it's too expensive for Bandos. You'd also have incur a -29 str bonus penalty on claw specs due to having to use max mage gear and forgoing a fury, boots, bandos, zerker (i) etc unless you bring ridiculous switches. But yes, it does deal higher DPS. Whether it's efficient is another question.
Quyneax
It's 65 dps versus 55 with a maul, I think that's pretty worth it, but you do need Virtus. You can use eee specs to compensate for some of the ranged defence loss. AHappySeeker
Lovely, thanks. Didn't realise the disparity was so huge.
Kirschen
I know everyone else has said it, but I will give my vote to rapier. Aside from my crossbow, I have had ZERO regrets from buying a rapier compared to the CLS (I've even been considering tossing it despite how silly it sounds). Very versatile, and it'll pay off rather soon when you use it. I even call it my precious, as creepy as that sounds. :^_^:
