Suggestion about RS Pmods chat options

I'm sure everyone has had to deal with their chat box being flooded by a player mod with nothing to say but ramblings, while they just want quiet, having public chat set to off. You might say not to look at it, but even if there's text in a vicinity of my eyes, I still read it. Now I'm not mad at them - everyone has goofy moments, and can't expect to act proffesional every second while playing runescape, but here's where my idea comes into play.

Just having pmods be given a hotkey to have a crown by their name. It would help in a few ways. First, for anonymity. I know plenty of people who hate being bugged with questions just because they see a crown by their name. And once you're given that crown, you're somewhat expected at all times to have important things to say, and when you don't, you get criticized for not acting how you should. Secondly, sometimes I just don't want to hear what pmods have to say. They're just regular players, and what they have to say if they're not talking to me is really of no importance to me. So why not have the crown not show up, or at least text not pass thru the public blocks unless the pmod holds down something like tab+enter instead of just enter when they say what they want to say? Makes enough sense to me.

If mods didn't have their crowns there all the time, or had the option to turn it off then ordinary players could impersinate mods, by saying they just have their crown off, more experienced players wouldn't be fooled, but new players are easily fooled.

That is jagex's reason, i read it somewhere, i think in the player mod bit on the runescape site.

agreed. autoers also can detect the crown because its the only thing that can posibly print anything other than black on the screen or something like that i dont remembter. maby mods can use like a private chat overide so that the mod can send a message in the form of a private message that disables public chat and shows the crown.

I know it can be annoying that pmods 'overpower' all public chat settings even when they aren't doing anything else then normal people are doing like in trading places promoting their items, in banks just talking with friends, etc. However I do think Jagex thought about it, but that they just don't want pmods to be able to temporary "remove" their crown as it will lead into more impersonation - and I have to agree with them on that.
