HunterMetroid64
I may be getting a free santa from a friend who hasn't played RS for years, and so will possibly have a good hunk of cash to spend. I'll be looking to get at least 97 (for completion of effigies) in the following skills: Smithing - Adamant platebodies + SC hammers?Crafting - Red d'hide + SC needles?Construction - Oak larders/doors + SC hammers?Fletching - Yew/Mage longbows + SC knives? I would also like to level the following skills, but not necessarily as high in the immediate future: Thieving - PP?Mining - LRC gold? I have given some training methods I know, but aren't necessarily the best. What would be the best method for each of the above skills with 150-190m to spend? Adamant platebodies are very good, however I wouldn't use the sc hammers for them.Red d'hide bodies are quite expensive without the sacred clay tools, and with the tools they are too slow. I'd suggest cutting emeralds or crafting water battlestaves if you aren't in a hurry to get the level.Oak larders/doors are pretty good. If you have a lot of money it is worth it to make mahogany tables instead. In this case it's again more efficient to go without the sacred clay tools but here I might use them because it is very expensive and I tend to go insane while training construction. As for fletching theres really no reason to use the sacred clay at all. The most efficient method to train is making broad arrows but a lot of people prefer just cutting longbows, as making the arrows is 8-9 gp/xp. For thieving your only options are PP and monkey knife fighters. The monkeys are only marginally faster than PP though and require much much more clicking. This is entirely dependent on your playstyle. And yeah, for mining do LRC gold. whether or not you drop ores or bank them is up to you though. Dropping the ores is much faster xp than banking them because you can also use urns to get 20% more xp. However banking them is much more afkable, so again it depends on your playstyle. Another thing that some people do is use the juju potions from Herblore Habitat to bank the ores and drop what the spirits don't take care of. This is really a nice halfway point so it might be good for you. Good luck skilling :D -Joof 2496 total achieved June 30, 2013
Kthx
Smithing + Mining Crafting - It depends on how patient you are. Dragonstone is both fastest and relatively cheap (7.26 gp/xp), but is difficult to buy. If you're looking for cheap and easy to buy, I'd recommend emerald. Red d'hide is around the same gp/xp as emerald and faster xp, but it'd be extremely tough to sell it back. Construction - Mahogany tables Fletching - broad or addy bolts while wcing Thieving - Pp
Capo_di_Capi
Indeed, if you plan on mining, just superheat meanwhile. It's quite fun (imo) and it's good xp per hour. As for the juju pots for mining, they're not worth getting. You spend more time making them than you save time. And when superheating you don't need them anyway. And planting samaden is very efficient farming xp, and making the potions is very efficient for herblore. So assuming you're training all of those skills, it makes sense to make juju potions.
