Aten
My pile is now up to ~340m which is the largest pile I've had at a single point in time since I started caring about maxing my buyables. This time though, instead of just immediately dumping it into skills that won't be paying back additional dividends, I've decided to invest half into merching and the other half into gear and supplies for bossing. Thanks to the recent 2x weekend, I have a few more chaotics in my arsenal now. Assume I have 170m to work with... Stats:- Max melee (well, 98 strength)- 98 hp- 94 ranged- 96 pray- 97 herb- 99 mage - 90 summ I can spend some of my charms, but I want to see if I can make a few bucks first before putting cash into summoning. What bosses should I attempt and what kind of gear setups should I use? I'm interested particularly in GWD bosses, but other solid moneymakers are fine as well. Current gear:- full elite void- deflector- all 3 void helms- rapier- cls- maul- ccb- fury- bandos Follow my road to 5.6/Gold Reaper/True Trim - DAT BLOG
Quyneax
Well there's a couple of main bosses: Bandos God Wars, Glacors, Nex, Tormented Demons. For the first two, use the Tip.It guide to figure out what gear you need. For the third, you really want Pernix but Armadyl, glaivens, spectral and ccbow works as well. For tormented demons, elite void with hand cannon and rapier+maul+claw specs is best. For Nex, a yak is required. Aten
I'll give TDs a try, as for glacors I've gone about 450 kills now without any boots drops and even the rune drops have barely made me break even ;f I might try them again after I get a chaotic staff though. Also, you only listed 4 things but speak of the "first two" and "the third" so I'm assuming you meant to include Arma? My question I guess is... how packed is Bandos/Arma these days? Would I be able to hold my own against the average soloer/low level team if I had to crash a world? Quyneax
Nope, I meant the first two and the third. Arma god wars isn't good money usually. Jadinko
Invest your money into summoning, it's well worth it. Also, enaid, is there a calculator for working out whether void or bandos is better? assuming max gear in all other slots Miseryism | Completionist
Quyneax
You must have a total strength bonus WITH void equal to 10x the strength bonus you would gain from the non-void setup (21 with Bandos, Neit, barrows gloves, 22 with goliath), minus 64. So for regular void it's 156. For void deflector it's 86. Jadinko
Not sure i understand, can you give me an example where void is better? Miseryism | Completionist
enfield
void is better if ,with void, your str bonus is greater than 10*(str bonus w/o void) - 64. Quyneax listed the cutoffs.
Jadinko
and what about accuracy? Also thankyou enaid i understand now. Miseryism | Completionist
enfield
yeah i think you would evaluate accuracy the same way you do for str. I guess there *could* be situations where you might want to use void even if the str is less because of the increased accuracy. but i doubt it. accuracy bonus is generally very well correlated with str bonus. Aten
Is it worth buying steadfast? Follow my road to 5.6/Gold Reaper/True Trim - DAT BLOG
Quyneax
Is it worth buying steadfast? It's one of those things that are worth getting, but only after a long list of other upgrades, such as spectral (for Bandos god wars) etc. You should probably also sell them if it would enable you to buy any piece of Nex gear. For tds/Nex, I'd suggest glaivens, for glacors steadfast really aren't worth getting.
