The polypore staff is recharged with the polypore spores, however you need 80 farming to recharge them.

Didn't want to make another thread to clutter.

 

The staff is only tradeable in either fully charged form or in its Stick form (AKA depleted form).

 

In between the two, you have the option to 'Clean' the staff to remove all the spores left over from it. However, you will only receive half of your spores and fire runes back (rounded down), and you won't receive any if you only have 1 charge left over.

 

Also, the Max hit from the weapon scales with your Magic level.
