Editing a gif for christmas

So is it at all possible if any could put a santa hat on the cat in my avatar?

Would be near impossible without the original frames of the animation as once exported into gif (or apng) the frames are lost and you can't really get back into the image to edit it.

What are you talking about, I managed to do it in roughly 30 seconds of image editing work?

 

I will give a try at adding the Santa hat, but my image editing skills aren't all that great
