Sy_Accursed
Which are worth it?Stats wise I'd say zerker, seers, archer; but I keep seeing some stuff about onyx. Is onyx really worth it? What uses does it have where its +6's beat the +8's of the other 3? Quyneax
That's the eternal problem of the onyx ring :P. It's so much more costly but not that much better (if at all) than the other rings. It's good at (ffa/random team) Nex for the combination of defence (prevents Nex from attacking you too much) and ranged attack bonus. If you have unequal gear in your Nex team you can use onyx (i) + Armadyl and Pernix + archer's (i) for example to balance out the defence. You might think it's good at dagannoth kings tribrid, but since Rex has no mage defence, Prime barely any ranged defence & Supreme does most damage if he spawns with another king, berserker is still better. Or row. Same reasoning for tds and glacors: berserker or wealth. So yeah, onyx is marginal.(ignoring pvp but I'd think that berserker (i) beats it there too, since most KOs are melee-based). Sy_Accursed
So basically the 3 fremmy rings cover everything and not much point in getting onyx? Quyneax
Not until you start Nexing, indeed. Dragonstone is pretty decent as well if you have to have a defensive ring for some reason (lrc or whatever). Powerfrog
I use berserker for melee and dragonstone for maging fight caves. I don't really mage or range at all... I chose dragonstone over seers because it gives good defense in all fields, including range which is valuable when using ganodermic, and it also gives good melee accuracy so i can melee the caves, or just have a more accurate claw spec on jad. (I chose it over onyx because 10m for a +1 stat increase for something i do monthly at best is out of my price range at the moment) I hear onyx beats zerker at corp when teaming if you're being selfish. Corp's attention is triggered by the damage done to him, and i think if you hit 350+ or something, he'll attack you. So the onyx lowers your max hit, but still keeps up your DPS almost as high, and increases your defense slightly, too. For a FFA i'd definatley recommend zerker though, especially if there are stat drains involved.
