Hello All. To make this long story short, I played runescape from classic, up to approx right after the construction skill was released. Then I stopped playing due to loss of interest in the game and also due to changes in my life. But, recently I was curious how the game has changed, and decided to hop on. I am currently F2P but don't know if I will actually join P2P again because I'm not sure if I will be pleased with all of the changes that have been made to the game. If you could give me any information that would be helpful as for the new skills, new ways to make money, and anything else in the game that might catch my attention that I will have a hard time finding out about on my own. I was always a huge fan of the site here, and was glad to see it up and still running! Thank you for your time, Zorin

The game has changed a lot, if I recall the time when construction was released correctly. Xp rates are much higher (for example all fishing xp got a straight 20% xp boost with urns) and effigies are 130k+ xp in a single drop. It's easy to hit 500s or 600s in combat, on some monsters even 1000s (double damage fire surge on ice strykes).

Dungeoneering is really useful but it's difficult to get into. It gives the best weapons in the games and scrolls that help benefit other skills, like herblore, where you can save 10% of ingredients for potions.

It also unlocks resource dungeons, the last one is the best, which is frost dragons. Frost dragons drop frost dragon bones which are better than dragon bones and sell for something like 18-20k each.

Effigies are basically rare drops you can get from most monsters that provide xp. When you first get an effigy you can inspect it and it will ask for two skills, i.e. fletching and woodcutting. If you have either skill at level 91 you can investigate the effigy with that skill and you'll get 15kxp in that skill and the effigy will move onto the next stage. In the next stage it will require a different pair of skills, like runecrafting and summoning, but this time you'll need level 93 and you'll get 20kxp. This happens again and again up to level 97 where once unlocked will provide a dragonkin lamp which is basically a really good xp lamp.

The skills are in pairs which include all of the skills except the combat ones and dungeoneering. Although summoning's in there. One of each skill in each pair is assistable too, so you can get someone with 97 runecrafting to assist you for your effigy, but they get the xp.
