Hey all! I need 55 crafting (from 49) so I can make my slayer helmet, and I found out that I can't request the required level!! Doh!

 

So what would be the best way to get those 6 levels I need??

If you're looking for fast and expensive, cutting emeralds would take like 15 minutes and cost 1.9M.

A balance of speed and cost would be some sort of gem jewelery. That would be like 1.5 hours and cost like 100k.

Slow speed with profit, you're looking at something like spinning flax for like 4 hours and 700k profit.

Those are just broad generalizations based on this spreadsheet.

Also, I would assume you could pot some levels, so that could save you some time.

I guess I'm lost as to where you got only 100k for the cost of making a gem jewllery??

Well, according to that link that I posted, crafting emerald rings are -1.87 gp/exp, so you would lose 138k for 49-55. If you use a crafting potion for boost from 52, you can get away with losing only 50k.

The purchase of the gems/bars will cost more than that, after you sell them however, it will only cost 138k. Calculated by the experience required for the levels you need, and multiplying it by the -1.87 gp/xp. This is assuming ge medium prices so depending on pice changes and what you buy/sell at, it may vary slightly.

I just did 63-70 crafting making gold bars into gold amulets. Took 5 days. Quite slow, i did it whilst watching TV but it's doable, plus, it's all profit. Roughly 80-90gp profit per bar.

i would do silver bolts or tiaras until you got lvl 50. then start doing ruby bracelets. So that way you can get good xp and then resell the bracelets to make most of your money back. you should level up pretty fast that way.

Or urns. Doesn't get you any gp but use urns for when you train other skills.
