Tool belt update and skill guides

Featured Replies

After the tool belt update which allows you to have tools on your person all the time, I was reading through some of the skill guides, such as the woodcutting and smithing guides which both state you need a hatchet and hammer respectively, but with the toolbelt update you don't need one in your inventory.

But you do still need one.

The fact its on the tool belt doesn't remove the need for it; it just means you have it on you at all times.

You can't smith without a hammer. Wc without a hatchet. etc.

You can however carry all the needed tools at once.

Not to mention that you don't want to chop wood with a bronze hatchet unless you don't have the level to use anything better, which is what the toolbelt restricts you to unless carrying a better alternative.

I've added a small note near the start of the smithing guide to confirm that a hammer on a toolbelt (or even the equipped golden hammer) works when smithing on an anvil. Since you upgrade from a bronze hatchet nearly instantly with Woodcutting, I haven't made any change in that guide.

The beginners guide covers toolbelt use though quite well :) Thanks for the submission, you have been credited :)
