How can I get a rhino cape?

Featured Replies

Hi. I've read a lot about the rhino cape and i really want it. But I'm not entirely sure the best way to tackle the caves.

95 prayer, overloads, 99 str, 97 attack, 87 defense, 94 mage, 79 range, 88 summoning, 96 constitution. Have rapier, maul, arcane stream, imbued rings, regular fcape, will have dreadnips before attempting.

I do NOT have SoA unlocked. (And I'm a long way from doing so, so I'd really appreciate a way that doesn't require it.)

I only have about 11m currently, although i can make like 50m before attempting the caves if absolutely necessary.

So yeah. I need to know what equipment, what inventory, what summoning, what levels i must gain if any...

I'm gonna get a few fire capes today so i can practice jad/have a spare to unlock kiln :)

Polypore is a bit weak to all-mage the Kiln so you'll be tribriding with rapier, polypore, Karil's crossbow. Though at 79 ranged it's perhaps not worth using ranged at all, idk for sure.

Ganodermic for mage + melee, black d'hide top for ranged, either fsh or neit, otherwise mage gear, soul wars cape, tokkul-zo ring, maybe defender/fury switch or so.

Unicorn summoned + spare pouch, 3 ovl/renewal flasks, couple of super prayer flasks, unicorn scrolls, some restore flasks and the rest brew flasks.

I wouldn't use range at that level. Stick to mage and melee.

I definitely wouldn't bother with range at your level. I didn't find range very effective even on the mages, and I'm 96 range.

I did the whole fight kiln using just rapier and polypore staff. I meleed the rangers and maged pretty much everything else. If I were you I'd take fully gano + arcane stream and pps for maging, then a fury/glory + some barrows top, bottom, and helmet and rapier for melee. If you're doing it on the cheap, a blessed spirit shield is probably good enough to use the whole time without switching. I went with barrows gloves, d boots and soul wars cape to complete the ensamble.

I would probably take a tortoise with supplies and summon a uni later, but that's up to personal preference. Definitely take EEE for the spec and dreadnips are highly recommended.

I found that I mostly used only prayer renewals through the first half of the waves or so. I by far needed the most healing on the boss just because it took a long time to kill with pps.

I hope this helps, and good luck with your attempt.

Thanks a lot, this does help!

I was assuming I'd not bother with range as it's overwhelmingly weaker than melee and mage anyway (That, and I've heard of people only maging the caves)

The gear recommendation sounds like pretty much what i was going for, too.

Guess I'm gonna work myself toward getting EEE and nips pretty soon (I'm close to both anyway.) and then i can tackle it and see just how difficult it is for myself :3
