Single best money maker?

While I'm fairly certain if you are lucky or skilled enough staking is the single best money maker in the game, with merching/flipping coming up second, and likely pking getting into the list as well (though that's debatable), I am curious what would be considered the best money maker in game that is skill based, collection based, killing based, etc. essentially any form aside from the previously mentioned three and just how much money can it bring in? Consider skills to be whatever is required and equipment for the task to be optimal. If you have some secret method that will be ruined by sharing it on the forums, by all means don't post it, but I also ask you don't post something like "I can make over (insert obscene amount)gp per hour using my secret method!"

I could see that honestly. How much can you make per hour doing leach floors, also at what dung level does that start becoming so profitable that it deserves the number one spot?

The best money maker in the game, that does not rely on above average luck or merching, is fight kiln collecting the uncut onyx.

 

With steel titan and SoA, you can complete the caves in 45 minutes. You spend about 2m on supplies. This leaves you 5.6m profit per cave.

 

That leads to a profit of 7.4m an hour. This is above what you'd expect from nex or any other boss in runescape. Of course this assumes you don't die and waste time/supplies.

 

That's the best one that i know of, anyway.

How does it end up costing 2m for 45 minutes of using the kiln? :blink: I barely spend that on my runs (1 hour 10-1:20) Unless I'm forgetting something. (SoA adds up to ~800k?)

Woops, i got the 2m from my none speed run lol. Yeah, speed running it would be closer to 1.2m, making the profit 6.6m per cave, or 8.8m an hour. (Assuming market onyx. I think it's lower than market at the moment.)

 

I do not count leeching as a reliable money maker because you have to find someone that is willing to pay for the service and you have to organize a team and wait around for people, you can go do the fight kiln whenever you feel like it. But sure, if you can sort it all out, it's good cash.

It's arguable that you might fail the kiln and waste time, so both have their downsides/non-guarantees. The best, 100% reliable, constant profit per hour without having to wait on anything or have any kind of luck is probably frost dragons. Bones are obviously 100% drop, so the only way that this method couldn't work is if you can't find a world (which after the bot nuke doesn't take all that long).
