ippetads
I am a free to player and I am currently spending a significant amount of time at the fist of guthix activity. Just a quick question, when I am close to death by a mage and have surplus prayer points, whcih prayer would be the most beneficial to switch on, mystic might or steel skin? (i.e. which is taken into consideration more, defence or magic level when the defence roll is calculated against magic). my defence level is 45, my magic level is 80. Sorry if this is obvious. Quyneax
Mystic might. And protect magic of course. The most common idea is that magic defence is 30% defence level and 70% magic level but I've also heard that defence doesn't matter in mage stakes, which would indicate magic level the only factor. Magic defense is 1/3 def and 2/3 magic. Mystic might would increase your magic def roll the most, since you're much higher magic than def.
Leon S
Magic prayers on the normal prayer book only affect your magical accuracy. They don't give a boost to your Magic level like other prayers do. Use Steel Skin.
Hedgehog
Magic prayers on the normal prayer book only affect your magical accuracy. They don't give a boost to your Magic level like other prayers do. Use Steel Skin.Honestly, I'm not too sure about that. Magic prayers effect the effective magic level, and that part of the formula doesn't change. So unless you have definitive proof, don't make that claim. As always, I'd love to be proven wrong.
