(Sorry, but after coming back from a long absence I need all the guidance I can get) So I'm planning to get my smithing up to at least 54, and I'm planning to do Cannon balls in small chunks (say 300 steel bars at a time) to make it affordable and make a profit. But I was wondering, is it better to buy the ores, smelt them into steel bars, and then make cannon balls? Will I get a higher return in experience/profit? Or will it be a lot slower, therefore buying the steel bars is the way to go Thanks again for any help. EDIT: My Smithing level is 40, Mining 41.
July 18, 201213 yr Its going to be such low profit anyway that you should buy the bars. Just make money and then use that money to train smithing faster. July 18, 201213 yr Buying the cannonballs saves you from wasting your time making them. Cannonballs are not good xp (even at your level) therefore, you should make money a different way so you can do something that has a greater xp/hr. I'd recommend you do the quest Family Crest, and obtain the goldsmith gaunts.
July 18, 201213 yr It'd probably be faster to pick bananas then spend the money on smelting gold (after doing family crest).
