In the shop, the price depends on the quantity of the item. If there is a sell all option, chances are that some of your items might be sold off for significantly less amount of gps. Furthermore, this is to allow fairness for other players who might be selling the same things as you.

If after you sold off all the 4k willows, the price that the shop will buy the willows from would be 4gp, a large drop from let's say 500gp. Then if another player who comes after you decided to sell his willows, he will realise that there is no profit in selling his wares. Hence the no "sell all" function. Or so I believe

Oh yes. You can sell stuff in notes, so why can't you sell more than ten at a time? It's tedious and wastes playing time. You would thus earn much more an hour than you do now, as you can quickly get back to your moneymaing. :D

There should also be a Sell X option.

I helped on the Black Knight's Fortress Quest Guide. Stop messaging me in game! All I did was say BKs are lvl 33, not 31!

All skills to level 30!

Exactly, and there should also be buy x / buy all options.

I'd love this but it'd seriously screw everything up. With this rune merchants which i occassionally do would have it so easy it would be unbelivable.

Im for the sell all though.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

People fail to see that this is not merchanting nor making a business from trading. It's a form of work.

Trading / merchanting = Spending your time trying to buy something cheaper from one player in order to sell it for more to another player. Essentially the money is only made by interaction with other players.

Work = Spending your time to obtain certain items, which then can be sold at a profit. Obtaining should be taken broadly here. Smelting coal + iron to steel bars which some people wrongly refer to as merchanting to, is still 'obtaining' items and thus work. More generally, everything where you obtain an item by not just buying it from another player is not merchanting.

Therefore, buying whatever from a shop is work - not merchanting like most people think it is.

And IMO it's stupid (excuse me for not using a better word) and it makes no sense that you can't do a buy x; especially if you try to observe it from a realism point of view.

That adding a buy x future would have such a drastic consequences (which I think is exaggerating it heavily by the way) implicates a bad concept in the system - not a fundamental problem with a buy x option.
