Powerfrog
Looking in the usual places and all i can find is "first impression" guides, which are very likely less than ideal. Just wanna know the general method for a fast QBD kill. Spec restores + claws? Range only? Uni or titan? Mage defense gear? Dreadnips? Protect prayer? Coming into this completely blind so if you could explain the essentials or link to a good guide I'd be thankful.

Powerfrog
"Dragonfire: The QBD breathes powerful dragonfire, which can hit you regardless of your location. This attack's damage can be reduced by using dragonfire protection and completing Song from the Depths" Oh. I should go do that. That guide is handy but it still fails to mention which protective prayers you should use when. All of the screenshots seem to be praying range, but I think the guy in them is always outside of melee distance.
Leik
Pray range whether you're ranging or meleeing. Ranging her first is definitely easier while you're getting used to her attacks, firewalls and souls and all that. LIVERPOOL WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON. Aten
What Leik said. Her range attack is super accurate and hits like a train... if you're ranging, go in void/deflector/swifts with dbane bolts and ccb. I think Royal crossbow is possibly a better alternative but I haven't tried it yet so I won't comment on that. Just take an iron titan, there's no real need to go with a yak really since QBD doesn't actually deal a ton of damage when you range (and any serious damage you actually take will probably KO you, so you'll lose all your yak's items anyways). I recommend taking a look at tip.it's guide or other YT guides for a summary on her list of attacks. Anyways, here's what I did when I ranged QBD: Wave 1: Stand 1 square from the center artefact. Spam titan scrolls, keep dreadnip active, and dodge firewalls as necessary while burst firing your bolts. You can either do the run-through trick or simply go through the slits (they are always in one of 3 spots so it's not too hard to predict). Wave 2: Stand in the western half of the platform, but not directly against an edge (when a soul spawns, if you don't have a square to drag them through, then you won't be able to dodge their spec). Basically same as wave 1, but 2 walls now. When the wave finishes, get to the artefact quickly. You will inevitably cause 1-2 worms to appear... bring a rapier to get rid of them quickly. Prioritize them as they hit hard and are very accurate. Wave 3: Stand in the eastern half of the platform, same stuff as wave 2. Remember to keep dreads up, titan actively scrolling. Wave 4: This is the toughest wave. You pretty much have to master sidestepping souls because if you just tank, you will get dropped fast on this wave. When she uses that ice breath attack, stand on the side of the platform. Remember, on this wave you'll get hit by a lot of different attacks so prioritize dodging attacks over brewing since being in the wrong spot will down your health bar much faster than you can even hope to heal (e.g. get through fire wall gaps, run to the sides of the platform, dodge soul attacks). Generally, during wave 4 I like to stand in a spot where I can see both corners of the plat while still being close enough to a side to bail if QBD ices me. The reason I still stand mid-ish is to be able to sight that pesky time-stop soul if and when he chooses to tele off to a far corner. Here, switching to rapier or simply tagging him with titan quickly can save a lot of nuisance. Also, any time you see QBD in her ice-blue crystal phase, just try to tank for a bit and focus on scrolling/dreadnipping/getting in as many hits as possible because she's really weak to melee/range during this period. Oh yeah, don't forget to bonfire before you go. That extra lp can be crucial. When you're not really threatened by specials, try to safe up. For inventory, bring 3 ovl flasks, 3 prayer renewal flasks, 4-5 summ flasks, 3 super restore flasks, scrolls, dreadnips, tele tabs for banking, rapier, EEE for healing ovl, 3 super anti flasks, and I know I'm missing something else lol... I'll edit when I think of it :P Follow my road to 5.6/Gold Reaper/True Trim - DAT BLOG
Leik
To add on that, don't bother killing the souls. Just lure their own attacks on them (and to avoid receiving damage as well) to kill them off. The only exception is of course in the 4th wave when one soul teleports to the other side of the arena and tries to timestop. Kill that one asap, otherwise don't bother killing the souls. Powerfrog
3 ovl flasks? Are we going for a 90 minute kill here? Oh lord are we actually going for a 90 minute kill here? And booo. I'm 84 range. Seeing as melee is better kill speed I'd much rather just do that to start with. I'm pretty good when it comes to actions per seconds and all that jazz, find kiln a breeze, I just need to understand the patterns and how I overcome them. Leik
No, the kill usually won't last much longer than 5 minutes. Extra ovl flasks are just for more kills per trip. And I would seriously recommend trying range first. Meleeing is pretty difficult if you have no experience at QBD beforehand. LIVERPOOL WILL WIN THE PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON.
