Response time from Accounthelp@Jagex?

Hi everyone!

 

I'm trying to get some information, and I thought this might be the place to come to. Long story short, I'm trying to recover my account. I let it fall by the way side when I headed off to college several years ago and it appears it may have ended up in the wrong hands through whatever means. I've had the urge to return to RS and yesterday started the process of recovering my account through a 2 page manual letter to the Accounthelp@Jagex email address.

 

I would like to get some basic information about this process, as I'm sure I'm not the only one in this boat. Has anyone used this process recently?

If so, what was your reply time? I'm edging close to the 24 hour mark at this point. I've heard anything from a few hours to several weeks. I'd kind of like a real answer.

 

Is there an automated reply acknowledging the email was received? I didn't receive one if so.

 

I've read mixed reviews between using this account as well as a "parents" account. I feel I would like to follow their requested method of contact, but I a ball park of response time would be appreciated.

 

I also looked into posting on the forums, but it appears you must be a member to do so. I would hate to have to make an account and purchase a membership to just ask a question. However, if I did that, do you guys think it would make a difference?

 

Any information is greatly appreciated :)

Alright, then that wont be the problem.

 

I believe the response time the usually handle is 48 hours, but i might be wrong as it has been a long time ago since i used them to recover one of my account.

I'm not sure about accounthelp@jagex, but recently I had some trouble with the JAG and when I emailed [email protected] I got a response within 40 minutes, and during the back-and-forth emails I got a response around 30 minutes after each email.

As the size of an explosion increases, the number of social situations it is incapabale of solving approaches zero.

Ensure you are not a social situation.

It varies. I've heard some as quick as 2 business days, and some nightmares of up to 4 weeks with no response. If you also have any reason to be concerned about your billing status, you can contact the billing support email address. They tend to be much more prompt when they receive those sorts of emails.
