What's the best thing to train to 99 magic from 96 on? Other than Glacors.

Mithril dragons i guess in meaning of boss-thing creatures you want train on.

Daganoth in Waterbirth Dungeon are excellent, atleast for now. According to Gemeos2, the xp rate is anywhere up to 375k/h using Rock Barrage (Ancients), although I'm certain that would be lower for non-99 without maxed gear. It also provides a very healthy amount of charms (~200-250 crims/h).

Never heard of Dagannoths being used for training in Waterbirth before. How would I go about doing that?

You literally just enter the tunnel and go at it. Just bring standard magic gear. You might want to bring a bunyip though since you aren't 95 prayer, but they really shouldn't hurt you that badly.

Rock Barrage or Blitz? Is it necessary to use Barrage? Won't I take too much damage anyway?

You can try Blitz, but I assume it'll be slightly less xp/h, of course, saving 1 blood/cast. As for taking damage, I'm not sure, the best way would be to give it a go with emergency teleports and food in your invent to give you a guide as to how your survivability is, but remember if you take along a shield (or just use shield+a wand) you can use healing abilities along the way.

I use abilities, I'm sure you can do just find with momentum or even just barraging as normal, but I find my damage output to be significantly higher with abilities. Anyways, this video is pretty comprehensive. Switch out the slayer helm/hexcrest for a suitable hood/helm.

 

dagannoths is fast and cheap if u pick the helmets (warrior, farseer, archer, berserk).
