Solo Arma Post EOC

Recommended Posts

I'd like to get back to doing solo Armadyl trips, but I haven't killed Kree since the update. I have a chaotic crossbow, what bolts should I use?

I can only afford barrows armor (or simalarly priced items) so full Armadyl armor is not possible. I have 95 prayer, overloads, and a war tortoise. I'm 99 melees, range, magic and HP.

Should I just use rocktails to heal?

I'm also unsure as to what attacks to put on the action bar, could someone point me in the right direction for setting my action bar up for Armadyl?

Thank you.

As Barrows and GWD gear now have the same def, I wouldn't worry about that, only for an Armadyl item. You will want a shield though, preferably Eeks (as you cannot afford an Ely). If you are (or close to) 99 Def, you can take a 2h Crossbow switch for thresholds. As for Bolts, Royal Bolts are the best. Ultimates are really useless at Arma, when Rapid Fire, Bombardment and Snap Shot are so much better. You will need a small amount of food, topped up by Manta Ray/Potato drops from Kree and minions.

Pray Anguish (Ranged version of Turmoil) and Soul Split for the duration of kills. Can heal post kill using up any remaining Adrenaline with the use of Regenerate (found in the Heart section of Ability tab). Alternatively, you can spam defensive abilities post kill in order to keep up adren, so as to unleash thresholds right from the start of every kill.

I would set up my Action Bar like so, with my inventory open should I need to eat.

In addition, you can now use a Cannon at GWD to great effect, especially useful at Arma Solo. Place it in a corner, personally I use the South West Corner, and stack the monsters atop one another for Bombardment. If duo, set up cannons across the center of Kree's spawn so as to maximise the dps. This also aids in dragging the minions towards the centre for maximum damage for a Bombardment attack.

Hope it goes well :)

Hi there

I have done a few solo armadyl trips, and all have been successfull.

I usually take the Armadyl armour aproach, but thats purely due to the fact that i had it pre eoc. As Tansuo said, currently, barrows has the same stats, and is cheaper to buy. You will need an armadyl item, and a zamorac item to be protected throughout killcount. For bolts, you could still use diamond / ruby switch, however, royal bolts do work with a ccb to, and have a considerably higher damage.

I personally use a royal crossbow at armadyl, and soul split kills, as the damage is excellent, and the kills are considerably faster. First few times, i did use a CCB / EEK. Rejuvinate is your best friend there, and can make solo trips last hours. Rocktails are the best healing in game at the moment, so id fill a tort with them :}

Action bars, mine has in order

msg9rb.jpg

Piercing shot / binding shot / fragmentation shot / snipe / snap shot / rapid fire / bombardment (for use when kree and his minions stack up together) / deadshot / resonance / rejuvinate / regenerate (for use inbetween kills) / rocktails on final tab. I usually keep my inventory open anyway, for potting up, and deploying dreadnips.

Hope this helps, and good luck getting some loot ;)

Thank you very much for the tips, my first trip I got an Armadyl helmet drop haha! I'll be tweaking my setup and hopefully I'll get more kills. I ran out of prayer pots well before I ran out of food.

Do you have advice on boot/shield sets? Right now I'm just using snakeskin boots and a black d'hide shield, are there any other options that are affordable that are better than these two?

Congrats on the drops, always nice when a trip is ends in success.

If you dungeon alot, the Eagle Eye Kiteshield is a very good ranging shield (it is the one i use alongside a ccb) Other than that im not so sure. Perhaps some other forum users might know :D

Boots, hmmm, i think rangers are affordable now, but dont quote me on this, i use glaivens :)

Good luck on your future solo trips :)

It doesn't matter too much what boot you use, they only slightly tweak your defence towards a certain style. At arma, I imagine ragefire is worst (because it's melee focus) and glaiven best (mage focus), with steadfast (ranged focus) in between. But I'm not sure what hits you most.
