Those are best boots available. Used mainly for semi defence purpose now. If you need cash feel free to sell them and buy cheaper ones.

But do they have any offensive attributes? Do they make one hit harder than before? Still kind of confused about this EoC thing, logged in yesterday after considering starting again :-P

If you try using polypore staff in bandos, and check the equipment screen, you'll notice you get quite a hefty accuracy penalty.

But yes, the only armour pieces that give offensive bonuses now are capes, rings and amulets. Also scrimshaws too.

Armour provides no damage boosts.

If you use armour that is not of the class your attack is of (range/mage/melee) then you lose accuracy. You lose most accuracy if you use the armour you are strong against. So melee > range > mage > melee means that melee loses most accuracy using ranged armour, magic loses most using melee armour, ranged loses most using magic armour.

Only body, legs and shield affect accuracy this way.

In addition, each piece of armour you have adds a multiplier to your generic armour value. The multiplier is different for each combat style. For example, magic armour would have 1x multiplier for melee defence but only .25x for ranged (I don't know the actual values). The multipliers all get averaged out to determine your overall defence.

All armour pieces affect defence this way. That means you can wear magic top, legs and shield while using magic attacks, and use melee boots/gloves/helmet to focus your defence into ranged.

Ah okay, I had to wield to polypore staff to see that the bandos armour gave negative magic bonus. However, when I wielded ahrim's, it didn't give me extra accuracy - so armour may only be negative to other classes, but not boosts? So in theory, I can use no robe top and bottom and magic and get the same results?

Yes, but you'll likely get torn to shreds by whatever you're fighting :P
