Hi. Whenever i try to "play" the Holy Cithara, all i get is a message that "You can't perform that emote with the item sheathed". How do i "unsheath" it?! Thanks in advance...

Right click the small dash in the top right of your action bar. Or use the * key on a number pad, I think that works too

By right clicking the minimize button on the ability bar (top right of the bar should have a [-] button) you can toggle your sheath.
