Bandos and Armadyl chestplate have the same defense bonuses (429), life bonuses (1680), and Prayer bonuses (1), but Armadyl has better defense towards magic. I want to know which is the better all around aromor for any situation. Thanks

I melee but can you tell me as to why Bandos would be the preferred melee armor.

Because if you use ranged armour, your accuracy goes bye-bye.

Yeah its been pretty much covered, but to reiterate.

 

Armour falls into 4 classes

1) Melee

2) Mage

3) Ranged

4) Classless

 

4 is quite rare aside from void and thus usually doesn't offer optimum

1-3 offer defence based upon their class. They will offer awesome defence to what their class is strong against, ok defence again the same class and poor defence to the weak class.

eg Melee class gives poor mage defence, ok melee defence and great ranged defence.

 

Further to this most of the armour slots can impact accuracy in so much as using a weapon of a class differing from the armour gives accuracy penalties.

 

Therefore, within the tier of armours you are looking at, if meleeing use Bandos, if ranging using Armadyl, if maging use Subjugation; but also beware in the eoc you shouldn't be a one trick pony - you should change style according to the monsters weakness.

Only plate, legs and shield affect accuracy (the rest affects defence) so just use Bandos plate/tassets and maul when meleeing. Change boots/gloves etc. to cover whatever defence you need.
