All_Is_Great
Hey everyone, I've recently come back after about ~7 months to vote in the poll. I figured I might as well give the EoC a try since I paid for the month of membership and I have a week off. I'm getting the hang of using abilities and what not, but I'm confused as to what equipment is optimal. I understand that monsters have their own weaknesses, but is it always the best to use attacks against their weakness? If I use different weapons, lets say stab against crush weakness, will it be worse? Are these items still any good:D claws (apparently they're two items now?)Chaotic weapons (I have all of them, I also bought an offhand crossbow, but no other offhand chaotics)Bandos chest + tassetsVoid set Also, whats the deal armour and accuracy and stuff? I get that theres a combat triangle, but does that mean whenever I use magic I should always wear magic equipment? Can I still cast magic in melee armour? Vezon Dash
Dragon claws utterly suck.Chaotic maul is the best of the chaotics for meleeBandos is still good and so is void 2h > dual wield in every situation outside of drygor weapons while using abilities You should try to use stab against stab weak monsters and so on, but the maul is so strong that you should use it for most melee weak monsters as it is the only t80 2 handed weapon. Okay, but why? If I have 2 rapiers shouldn't I do more damage than one maul? Don't both rapiers attack faster? I heard crystal bow is strong now, so it is better than dual wield chaotic xbows? Is my chaotic staff better than a wand + book? I guess I'll get rid of the claws then, holy crap I lost quite a bit of cash on that hahahah. Vezon Dash
Abilities only affect 1 of the rapiers so you only get the ability on 980 damage instead of getting the ability on a 1700 damage maul. 2 handed weapons are rather broken at the moment. Royal crossbow would be a good investment as it beats out dual chaotic crossbows when using abilities since it is a 2 handed crossbow. As far as magic goes... I'm not too keen on that. However, I would take a guess to say that you are better off using that staff unless you want to fork out heavy amounts of cash for a Virtus wand. All_Is_Great
Cool cool thank you! EoC seems interesting so far, but there's a lot to take in at once.
Quyneax
In general: 2h > 1h/dw weapons of the same tier. Right now the damage is so different that 2h even beats 1h/dw weapons of a tier high in terms of 100% accuracy damage output. The only two monsters worth using dual wield on are Nex and the KK, because there's really accurate level 90 1h weapons, but only level 80 2h weapons which aren't as accurate.Crit is straight dps increase, just one percent for one percent.Void, GWD chest pieces and Nex equipment are the only damage-boosting stuff around, so they're worth using usually. There's also Balmung and Fsh but those are more niche. Salve doesn't work (idk if you were looking to kill undead anytime soon, but there you go).
