Glacor Help

So I'm trying my hand out at glacors so I can make some money while getting magic exp. Stats are in sig.

Right now my set up is this...

glacors.png

Using bloodfire blitz. I'm overloaded and praying anguish/ss. I seem to be splashing a lot, so much in fact that I can't even kill the glacor once it's exploded after I've killed the glacytes before its health regenerates.

Would an ABS be enough of an improvement to avoid splashing or do I need to upgrade to a chaotic staff?

I have been able to kill Glacors effectively with Staff of Light, though it is true that I splashed quite a bit. I recommend killing the Sapping glacyte last.

Armadyl battlestaff was definitely an improvement for me, but if you can, get Virtus wand+book or Chaotic staff.

Alternatively, you can always wait until they update combat again so that your combat stats have more of an impact on your accuracy and damage. That would (hopefully) allow us to use Lv. 75 staves to kill Glacors without splashing all the time.

I hadn't heard of a combat update. I'm planning on getting chaotic staff next anyways as I already have t80 weapons for every combat style but magic and virtus is way out of my price range right now. Would I be able to survive in void mage there?

I've seen people using void mage at Glacors, but without being able to hit consistently, Soul split probably wouldn't heal you enough to make up for the damage taken.

Last question, I've read conflicting things about ancient fire spells vs. normal fire surge. Is it ok to use ancients or am I nerfing my dps?

Fire surge used to be the better choice, but I've been told that Ancients were made more powerful than regular magics two weeks ago.

Personally I used Fire surge up to ~Lv. 96 magic, and then I switched to Bloodfire blitz, because people were saying that ancients were made more powerful.

I didn't really see a difference between the two.

I have used void mage + chaotic staff there quite a bit (ovl/anguish, 99 magic) and Soul Split will only barely sustain you, sometimes not at all - you do need a unicorn or some food. Even with cstaff you splash a fair bit, so I wouldn't bother with glacors until you get that at least, abs won't be strong enough to get a decent kph. That is assuming you have alternative bosses available (notably GWD).

Yeah you'll probably want to go to sgwd instead. Better drops (I think they're also more common than boots) and a Lv. 75 staff doesn't splash all the time.

Though if you have connection issues, then GWD may be out of question (dying from getting DC'd and losing gear, etc.)

Like I said, I haven't tried with void mage, but I found that Tier 80 weapon didn't really splash all that much (although you may end up splashing 2-3 times in a row for some reason.)

But it was well enough for Soul split to make up for the damage I was taking (wearing Gano, though Ahrim may work too.)

Thanks guys, I'll look into sgwd in addition to my arma trips.
