DontKnowAnyGoodNames
Hi, I'm looking for help with the best way of improving my combat gear. (More of a skiller so not blessed with knowledge over combat.) I do almost entirely slayer (no bossing), stats are: 87 - HP86 - Def + Att85 - Str84 - Range + Slay83 - Mage Current equipment: Range - Royal DH w/Crystal Bow (occasionally use dual Rune CBs + broad bolts)Melee - Bandos w/ Vine Whip + EEMage - Nothing (only use ranged and melee) - Have completed both Desert Treasure and Lunar Diplomacy So, I now have some money to spend (ideally 10mil max, could go over at a push) and DG tokens for a chaotic (250k approx), what is the best way to spend them? I was thinking magic gear for use on tasks which are weak to an element like gargoyles but have no idea what is good/cost effective, also possibly using tokens and some cash to diversify melee weaponary, i.e. one crush, one stab, one slash? What do the experts think? General slayer/combat tips also apprectiated as my tactics generally amount to using best DPS prayer, skipping any tasks that are too hard to kill or too little xp, wearing full slayer helmet and using the closest equipment to the task's weakeness I have. Thank you for all help in advance, it is much appreciated.
Ammako
I suggest getting at the very least Barrows armor (Bandos is better than Barrows armor for Slayer, so keep that.)That means getting Karil's and Ahrim's. Get Royal crossbow for Ranged (or you could use Hand cannon until you get Royal crossbow), Crystal bow is fine for tasks that are weak to arrows. For Melee, Vine whip + EE is decent, but since you have the tokens, I recommend you get a main hand Chaotic claw (100k tokens for 5 Chaotic spikes + Dragon claw.) Keep EE for now as it's only 4 points of damage lower than an off-hand Drygore mace, but they're supposed to nerf that sometime in the future. So keep EE, and once they nerf EE (If they get around to doing it), you should get an off-hand Chaotic claw.Chaotic maul may be worth getting for tasks weak to Crush. I suggest getting Staff of Light/Polypore staff for maging for the time being, upgrading to Chaotic staff when you get 200k more tokens. You could also get Virtus wand/Book, but that costs >200m. As for the amulets, getting Arcane stream necklace from Dungeoneering is a must. If you don't want to spend the 32k tokens on one, you can also get Saradomin's hiss (0.5% less crit than Stream necklace.)Saradomin's whisper and murmur are the best amulets for Melee and Ranged respectively. Amulet of fury is an option too, but I really recommend spending the extra money on Whisp + Murmur (only costs about 1m more) As for the boots, I would recommend getting Bandos, Armadyl and Subjugation boots + gloves for melee, ranged and magic respectively, although Armadyl gloves and boots would break your budget. Quyneax
Full Subjugation (GWD mage robes) with a wand of treachery and Ahrim's book, burst/barrage with momentum on most tasks. High xp rates, also costs a bit, but that's ok. High xp rates, also costs a bit, but that's ok. Without cost in mind. Is this faster than drygores? And is there any way you could list which tasks? I know it's a lot to ask but I'm using kuradal and skipping a lot of the lesser tasks and would just like to know which I should barrage over drygores. Quyneax
Yes it's faster than drygores. You should probably barrage anything that takes up one square, two-square monsters typically need to be stacked before barrage can hit enough of them (think the old ape atoll skeletons versus the old rock lobsters). Quasar
There are definitely some tasks worth drygoring (all metal drags?), and it might be worth drygoring or even ranging waterfiends (Chaos Tunnel waterfiends are no longer aggro and are fairly hard to stack). I also drygored my last black drags task. But barrage is very good for anything aggro in addition to easily stackable monsters. best drops (reasonably accurate/up to date): 1x Elysian Sigil (LS), 1x Arcane Sigil (cs), 4x Armadyl Hilt (solo at 100m, 100m, 50m, and 5m), 2x Saradomin Hilt (solo at 25m), 5x Draconic Visage (34m,1.2m,1.2m) and various cs/ls/ffa Nex splits. Th e Doctor
Probably, but 4th phase souls piss me off too much. On task I've only ever had them spawn once since I started using berserker, the phase just goes to fast for them to be an issue.
