So I've been doing photography for a while and today I got to take pictures of my nephew again. Here are the turn outs, and the ones from last time as well. The pictures are pretty big so I am just going to put them into Spoilers!

Yes, tell us about your camera. These are some quality shots and the resolution suggests to me you're using something decently high-end. The captures are fantastic! Capturing an actively moving target such as a healthy little boy like your nephew is tough-- I'd say that takes considerable skill and a quality camera.

 

My wife, my daughter and I were taking photos of fireworks two days ago (U.S. Independence Day)-- combine that with our squirrelly six-year old son and I hope that gives you an idea of where I'm coming from, plus we only have a glorified point-and-shoot (a Canon PowerShot SX110 IS).

There is definitely an improvement with your newest set of pictures. Keep it up!

Canon - EOS Rebel T3i 18.0-Megapixel DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens. I have tons of accessories and extra lenses though. We spent over $1.3k on my camera + accessories. Best graduation gift ever!

Lenses sure do make a difference. I can only guess at the accessories, though. One of my brothers-in-law uses a lower-entry Canon Rebel (Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi), but my father-in-law is all about Nikon. He got a D7000 a few years ago because it fit all the lenses he had already.

 

The camera I use was the missus's choice; if I had money to spend again I'd get a good camcorder and sit down with my daughter to start working on some video... she's moving in much the same creative direction as I am in that regard

Yeah, I understand that. I wanted a Nikon, but for everything I wanted it was an extra $779 that my parents didn't have. They saved up money since I started school to get me a decent graduation gift, but for my middle school years they were really low on cash and couldn't do that. So there was 3 years where nothing was being added to it, but I don't mind. It was generous of them to do so in the first place.

Infinitely better than my own grad gift... Infinitely because I got nothing. I could have gotten 100% in every class and got nothing... I never cared, though. I knew I wouldn't, what with growing up in a single-parent household.

 

My rambling aside, those are definitely some nice shots.

Phenomenal photos. Composition could be worked on a little (where the photos were taken, angles, creating circular photos, etc.).

 

I used a Canon Rebel T2i with a 18-135mm and none of my photos are able to create that almost bokeh background you have in a few of your photos - what lens did you use for those?
