New Scape

Hello all,

 

I recently took a two year break. I was pretty active on here as well, but for some reason could not get on my old account.

Anyways, a lot has change in Runescape since I left and I have a couple of questions.

 

Being an oldie, I don't understand the new combat to well. I hear that some weapons that used to be great are now useless. Can you tell me what melee and ranging weapons I should be using for slaying these days. I am 90+ in all my combat stats. 99 range and 99 defence.

The same questions goes for gear, armorwise. Anything will help.

Melee: Drygores, failiing that Chaotic Claws/Maul/Rapier=Long in that order, armor Torva > Bandos > Others

Magic: Seismic > Virtus > Chaotic Staff > Ahrim > Other staves, armor Virtus > Subjugation > Others

Ranged: Ascension Crossbows > Royal Crossbow = Chaotic Crossbows, Pernix > Armadyl.

Literally the only thing that matters for weapons (of the same style) is the tier it is at, which usually is the level required to use it.

 

You have ten styles, the four magical elements, stab, slash, crush, bolt, arrow and thrown.

Thrown is useless, arrow goes up to t80, the rest goes up to t90.
