godwisper
I get trashed...heard it is an easy task to get the cape but not for me and I am maxed 200 combat tried yesterday with obsidian melee armour, drygores mace and oh rapier, royal cbow switch and iron titan.... did not pass level 20 and was literally out of food few levels before... any suggestions ? Tansuo
There is next to no point taking an iron titan - combat familiars are useless. Take a pack yak instead if you are having trouble with food. You'll want a mage switch too (ice barrage is your best bet) as it's the easiest way to deal with Jads.Every wave has the same spawn, so as long as you know what's coming up next, you can eliminate everything with ease. For 99% of the waves, soulsplit is the only overhead you should need. For Jad's, you will NEED to change prayer from mage to range protect and vice versa (if you aren't sure on the attacks, look up a video explanation). Jads are on waves 10,20,30,35 and 36 (two on wave 36). There are specific lures for each wave that will ensure that Jad does not attack you as soon as the wave begins. Off the top of my head, for waves 10, 20,30 and 36 you will need to stand on the north east side of the centre rock. For wave 35, stand on the west side, directly in line with the central rock. I will post a video which explains all.You will need a pickaxe and/or dreadnips to deal with the Dill's on waves 5, 19 and 28. These videos are pre-eoc, but the strategies are still correct if you are having trouble. Don't pay attention to the gear - Obsidian is the best gear to use.I'm fairly experienced at Kiln, so when I do it I don't take a ranged switch and I melee (drygore) both the mage and range monsters, maging the melee's and Jads. My invent consists of very few food, and I use a bunyip. Almost all of my healing comes from Soulsplit, but occasionally I use Restoration crystals (waves 3,15 and 27) and I take invulnerability crystals as I go (useful on wave 28 and if you come into trouble with Jads. The crystals spawn on waves 10,13 and 25. Sy_Accursed
The essence of fight kiln from my experience 1) Use weaknesses - Especially if you are using obsidian which makes tribriding super easy (change helm and weapon). I used polypore with ice mage, chaotic maul and ccbs.2) If you are only going to single style or hybrid melee is the one to leave out as more are range or mage weak and/or easier with safe spots, just my opinion. Pros could probably do other ways but the weaknesses and safespot-ness favours range and mage for the less seasoned.3) Learn where to stand for each wave to make loads of stuff safespottable. I did it post-eoc tribriding in obsidian with a mess up on 1 jad and 2 dils and I'm not even that good at pvm and it walked it to the point har-aken was more zzzzzz when will this end than a real challenege. godwisper
thanks to all for the tips...was going to ask infact if I should take melee or mage helm or both. Will try again taking bunyip instead of iron titan and virtus wand and book besides the drygores.

Tansuo
Jad you need to get your prayer switches right. If you don't, he will tear you apart. In essence, when he dips and rears back onto his hind legs, he will mage you. When he rises then slams the ground, he will range you. You need to get your prayers right, so learning what attack animation means what is key. You can see his attacks here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xD3fIoszbx4 The Crystals aren't as important as they once were. The invulnerability and restoration are still as useful, the constitution one too perhaps, but the others not so much as they severely limit your capabilities to hybrid (you'll likely use a crystal then find that you progress through the waves far too quickly, thus it hinders you later on). The only time I'd say it would perhaps be beneficial to use the Magic crystak during the Jad on wave 20, subsequently maging waves 21-24 (or 23, I forget). | | | A Blog to Bathtubs for BeginnersQuest Cape | 99 Defence Achieved 11-Jul-2011 17:41 | 99 Prayer 11-Jul-2012 | 99 Constitution 02-Aug-201299 Attack 31/10/2012 | 99 Dungeoneering 31/10/2012 | 99 Strength 31/10/2012 | 99 Magic 2/12/201299 Range 16/12/2012 | 99 Herblore 25/12/2012 | 99 Summoning 4/1/2013 | 99 Firemaking 6/3/201399 Farming 10/4/2013 | 99 Slayer 11/7/2013 | 99 Fletching 21/8/2013 | 99 Smithing 22/8/2013 99 Crafting 19/12/2013 | 99 Cooking 15/1/2014 | 99 Agility 25/1/2014 | 99 Thieving 01/02/201499 Construction 21/04/2014 | 99 Woodcutting 04/03/2014 | 99 Fishing 17/04/2014 | 99 Mining 23/07/201599 Divination 27/07/2015 | 99 Runecrafting 20/08/2015 | 99 Hunter 20/08/2015 | Maxed 20/08/2015
Ammako
When I reached the double Jad wave, I still had like 3 invulnerability crystals and some restoration crystals, so I just popped on an invulnerability one: baby mode JadThen when it runs out during Har-Aken, activate another one (although it seemed Har-Aken was so easy that you probably won't need any crystals there.) Restoration crystals are pretty useful for when you end up in a bad spot and Soul Split doesn't keep up with the damage you take, but considering you're using Obsidian armour, you normally shouldn't get in those kinds of situations. What makes you run out of food before wave 20 exactly? You should be standing in the right spots when each wave starts to limit the damage taken. RS Wiki has a nice guide for that. chenw
Just wanted to check the time, I used to do kiln at a rate of 1 per hour before the obsidian armor update #2 (one where they nerfed it back to t60 and gave a huge damage reduction against tzhaar creatures), which does not include a number of things that speed it up, such as continuously keeping Overload/renewal, or using 95 curses, or adrenaline stalling.
