I've noticed players walking around with staffs on there back & swords etc etc..

 

What i would like to know is how they are doing this? Thanks :D

this occurs when a 2h weapon is sheathed

 

you can achieve this by clicking the small (it is very small) rectangular box in the upper right hand corner of the bar with your health and such on it. it also will show your total level rather than your combat level when some one scrolls over you.

 

EDIT: you need to right click the box and hit toggle sheath. sorry forgot that bit

^ Note if you have not fiddled with it you automatically sheathe weapons out of combat anyway.

Only if you have manually swapped to unsheathed will you leave your weapons in your hands.
