February 21, 201412 yr After reading more and more of the DIY blogs I finally made my own and have just started working on the account. Nothing to major to report as of yet as am on vacation. I am just looking for some useful tips/info for the beginning of my journey with a DIY account! I am mostly just skilling now as not to fussed about combat. So any sort of tips/tricks to help get me started would be appreciated!
February 21, 201412 yr The trick is to not worry about getting too many things done too quickly. Just start by doing stuff you like, go at your own pace. A good place to start would be the good old gathering skills. Gather resources, process them to level up your production skills. Filtering your quest list and doing the ones you can do at your levels is something you could do as well, as long as you can obtain all of the items for them. Then, as you level up, you'll find that more and more quests/other content become accessible to you, so you can go and do those if you wish. Also, I highly recommend hoarding all the stuff you find as monster drops and from skilling. Every item has a value for DIYers, even if it's just for selling at a General Store for some extra money or something like that.
February 21, 201412 yr High xp/low requirement quests like the Waterfall Quest are good starters as well. And, forget about using cash for anything. You still need lots of cash, but it'll all be pumped into construction, summoning and MTK. February 21, 201412 yr Cash is really valuable in the beginning yeah, with little options to get hold of it. I'd say get the ball rolling for MTK asap, it's highly useful. edit; try to work on your first pop skill as well, the sooner u unlock ports the better. I'd suggest runecrafting as it allows you to make seasingers as well (and get double nats at 91, around 450 nats per day from wicked hood) second edit; dont always go for the route thats best xp. evaluate other methods, they might have better materials for the diy gameplay.
February 22, 201412 yr First time I've actually heard of the DIY concept, looks interesting, good luck with it! Once you build up combat and smithing up, i find killing Exiled Kalphites extremely good profit. Pick up the lantadymes, rune equipment and the damaged chitin, then use the chitin on the anvil to break it down (the amount you get depends on your smith level). Using a spirit terrorbird, at 82 smithing and 175 combat i earned 900k-1mil/hr
