As I'm going about my business mining and banking ess, I've been noticing something...

Why are there all of the sudden so many lvl 3 "default" characters mining ess? I know this topic has been posted before, but I just want to know what's going on. I thought maybe they are auto miners, since I also noticed a few just standing there at the ess rocks or whatever they're called.

I also just wanted to say how stupid some people are, especially when there are mods hanging around the area...

(This is when someone kept repeatedly closing the door at Aubury's)

They're autoers, botters, scripters and macroers.

I thought Jagex banned all of those people, and continue to ban those who cheat... I guess they're not catching all of them.

No, you're wrong. Jagex bans those people who say things like "google" or "tip.it". Those are evil people who are advertising inappropriate websites like google.com and helpsites like tip.it. People who macro however aren't advertising websites, so Jagex doesn't ban them! That's the logic of Jagex!

From the RuneScape Customer Support News:

"19 January 2006 - Over 15000 RuneScape accounts banned for cheating

We have just banned over 15000 accounts from the main RuneScape game for breaking rule 7, and attempting to use software to play the game automatically for them.

We can detect this type of cheating VERY easily. Suprisingly some people seem to think they can get away with this, but we're making absolutely sure you can't.

As well as having new systems to detect people cheating in this way, we are also using a new system to go through and ban other accounts used by these cheats, so they can't just cheat on a 'throwaway' account they don't care about, and expect their other accounts to be unaffected.

We will not let cheats spoil our game for everyone else. It's just not fair on our millions of legitimate players to let a selfish few try and spoil the game for everyone else."

A.) Jagex did ban a HUGE amount of autoers en masse

B.) Jagex banned all of their accounts. Nothing stops them from creating new accounts to act as bots again. Mass banning and banning their main accounts only act as a deterance, something to make them stop and think "Well I just lost 500 Million gold pieces and hundreds of items. Is it really worth it just to Auto again and run the risk of being banned after getting so much? Maybe I should try going legit this time."

C.) Jagex does what it can. We see more people complain about getting banned for saying "Check out Tip.it" or "Why don't you just google it" because those are the only people that post about it. Not many autoers come to the forums saying "Jeez louise! I just got banned by Jagex for autoing! Why can't they let me auto in peace, it's just a game". We do hear people complain about being banned for autoing but they claim they never did auto, but very few here can be held accountable to their Internet Word (of honor, a.k.a. saying something under oath).

Those people have been taken care of i have seen them all day and i told a mod a mod said he will remove them as soon as possible and i have not seen any of them on now but that doesn't mean if they were removed yet but they are being handled as we speak.

come to think about it... they looked pretty awesome.. how mani look-alikes can u find in the whole of rs? i only found one thru my whole rs career

close the door or hit them with a rubber chicken

the results are quite funny :D

Why are they walking round in circles??

There is a new bot out now right....

maybe thats got something to do with it

theyll get banned, the problem is jagex doesnt have a way to log people off bruteforce styles, so they dont get banned till they log

remember, its not random people doin this, its ebayers hiring people in china and other poor areas
