Why doesn't any cheeseburger exist in Gielnor?

Featured Replies

I have always wondered why cheeseburgers don't exist in that world, can someone tell me?

And no, it's not because it didn't exist during the medieval times. Pizzas didn't exist back then either, but we still can make that in the game.

I believe Mudknuckles the goblin chef is working on developing some form of fast food, would be possible that he'll figure out how to make cheeseburgers.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Jagex is still negotiating with fast food chains to see who will sponsor it...stay tuned.

Also, regarding pizza vs cheeseburgers in medieval contexts:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_pizza

Well according to this article pizzas weren't invented until the late 19th century.

Something similar existed before then. Similar being the key word, that does not mean it's the same thing.

The first line of the article says that the term was coined in 997 A.D.  So it would seem quite feasible that it was around in the Middle Ages, right?  They have a reference but it seems to be in Italian anyway, so unfortunately I would not be able to read it.

Actually you can, it's called Google Translate.

It doesn't work on a physical book though :P.  But if you can find a way for me to borrow a free and legal electronic copy, be my guest.

Actually it can work on a physical book. You can get it translated by typing everything you read in the book.

With accents I can understand it would be harder, and if it's a long book it takes a long time to type it on the computer.

That requires having the book though.

Some how I doubt anyone here owns some obscure Italian book that just happens to appear in the footnote references of a wikipedia article.
