RS Sound

Featured Replies

No sure if this is the right place to post, but eve since they changed the rs sounds, quite a long time ago, my sound mainly cuts off. This could be after 5 minutes, an hour, 3 hours. After this I randomly get sounds coming through but for the majority, nothing.

Is there anything I can do to remedy this? I hate getting somewhere and not noticing the big hits because my head mainly relies on the sounds I'm used to for this.

Cheers.

Sometimes my sound stops working and I slide the top two sliders under the Audio Settings (Music, Sound Effects) all the way up and down a few times.  That usually holds it for a while at least...

Same problem.  I've asked people in a few clans about this and everyone has said they get it too, so I assume it affects (just about) everyone.  I think it started when Ironman mode was released in October?  At least that was when someone pointed it out to me and I began taking notice of it myself (at the time we both thought it only affected our Ironman accounts, but I've since played on my other accounts and had the same problem).

Dungeoneering is the worst for this.  I have to reset my audio after every single floor, or sometimes every few rooms.

Do you also get it where audio will repeat the same soundbite over and over until you do another audio-producing action to get it to stop?  For example, when I close my bank it plays that door shutting audio clip, but rather than going silent when it finishes it instead keeps playing the very last few milliseconds of the audio clip every ~2 seconds (di-di...di-di...di-di...).  To make it stop I can open and close my bank again (sometimes have to do it a few times), do something else that produces sound (like chop a tree), or reset the audio levels.  This trolls me sometimes and makes me think I'm still chopping at a tree because I can hear the wood chopping audio clip, but in reality my character is just standing in front of a tree stump.

Yes it drives me insane! But it is a fairly old problem, way before ironman. Dung is terrible for me also with the sound.

No, it happened well before Ironman. I remember because sound was more critical while attempting my runite ore mining expeditions semi-afk.
