How is Manual better then Revolution combat?

Featured Replies

Doesn't Revolution help you automatically trigger abilities while manual you have to click a lot?

Don't forget, you can assign them to keybinds too (right click -> 'Customise-keybind'). Manual can be helpful because:

  • you can trigger abilities in precisely the order you want, not just a preassigned order
  • if you need to run away or retreat, for example to dodge the special attack of Frost Dragons, Revolution can keep hitting for several more cycles regardless if you don't spam click a lot.
  • there are other ways Revolution can screw up sometimes as well, such as having a sluggish start when you first attack something (at least, last I did combat).

Overall, if you're going to AFK or do something routine, Revolution is fine, but if you want that fine-tuned control don't hesitate to try manual and make sure to bind keys that make it easy for you to fire off abilities.

My blog here if you want to check out my Times articles and other writings! I always appreciate comments/feedback.

All I do in RuneScape is kill Tormented Demons, and Revolution is horrible there. You generally use certain ability rotations/combinations (e.g. Needle Strike - > Bombardment -> Shadow Tendrils or Concentrated Blast -> immediately queue Wild Magic). Basically, you want to only use certain basics, and only at certain times, so revolution is useless unless you want to max at maybe 90 KPH.

Other places, even places like Araxxor (well, up to a % of Enrage), revolution is a little worse than full manual for reasons outlined by Arceus.

Revolution leaves a lot of dead time after combo attacks, and doesn't automatically cancel the fury and concentrated blast combos.

In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.

Revolution is the best no question.

You can manually do the more critical parts in revo like queing an ability to prevent slow starts and combo canceling. As a whole these are things manual has to do anyway.

Consistent Dps as you can't fail to queue abilities and threshold combos aren't fail canceled.

You can run revolution in full manual if you actually want to. It wouldn't much different. The only issue with revo is trying not to combat, suffering.
