February 6, 201511 yr So I went to many hunting areas, and every time I put a trap, either nothing happened or I didn't have the required hunting level. All I wanna do is put the 655 protean traps I have to good use. But no, I can't. Can someone help me? I have 27 hunting by the way.
February 6, 201511 yr They're used as a substitute for bird snares, box traps, and marasamaw plants. So just put them up in a Hunter area where you would usually put one of those three and you should catch something much the same way as those items work. February 6, 201511 yr It also helps to note, that even if you fail to catch the animal, with protean traps you still gain xp from the trap, not as much as if you had caught the animal..But it is still some xp and no need to worry about picking up anything from each catch. February 6, 201511 yr They're going to be useless until you hit Penguins/Chinchompas (50ish) even then salamanders are probably better. Surprised they don't have any solid options until like Jadinkos to use them. Skillchompas might be okay. I doubt it though.
