I look at it this way...

If I'm not using any illegal third party software... and my pop up blocker or firefox block an ad... Thats tough luck for Jagex.

I'm not about to go out of my way to allow ads that I wont even bother to click on.

I see why they added the rule... but theres no way in hell I would intentionally allow a bunch of stupid ads to pop up. Especially when I'm using software that they themselves claim to use.

Thus they CAN say are you using ad-blocking software or not by comparing IPs requested banner.ws script and IPs that are in game.

If they will start to ban players for disabling ads i will quit, because ads and CPU-consuming flash banners are not compatible with my 64kbit connection :!:

The adverts above the free game are what enable us to keep it free after all!

It is LIE. Free game is very important part or RS economy and most members came to p2p from free game.

i agree with what a bunch of people said about getting virises and other things from pop ups along with the fact that some ar infact not apropriate for some of the age levels that are playing runescape

and i dont think that they can even legally tell you how you use your computer with all the difrent virises and trojans out there. If your using a well known anti spyware llike norton or even a free one and it has pop up blocker on it there ar kinda out of luck. You knever know ehat kinda thing you can get from pop ups at any site seeing as how many people do other things such as surf the web when they ar also on runescape.

ok 1 step closer to make runescape only p2p! it will be done eventually mark my words. YES jagex said that they will never close down f2p. but they also said after drag shield that no drag items will be added into game anymore! :P

Actually, half the time the ads just show up as grey screens, much like the Runescape loading window when your comp lags. And the other time, my anti-virus blocks it (woot Norton). But since my account on this comp isn't the Administration account, I can't mess around with the security settings, therefore I can't disable ads when I play runescape! Gah!
