Fighting Pets

Why don't they have fighting pets? Like you could get one and raise it and take it to fight with you. They could have levels and different pets could have different pros and cons. Just thinking it would be a good idea for jagex to think about.

Also what kind of pets would be available? Would they be god or class oriented or niether?

Trained pets can be a lot of fun, but only if you make it fun. Fighting pets that level up as you do and grow with you are great, as long as the system isn't abused. And trust me, it will get abused.

Greenscreen, if you really are serious about this, put more thought into it and post again.

Some places to start:

Give a starting list of pets that you can get, along with how you can get them.

What can and can't they do?

How do you train them, what about feeding them and keeping or losing control of them?

What happens when they die? Leveling a pet to a respectably high level only to have them die and be unrecoverable can be really...disapointing to say the least.

How many pets can you have at once?

Can you transfer ownership of the pet to someone else? If not, why not?

How strong can they become?

Do they have other advantages? (i.e. mounts and pack animals)

If you can't answer these questions, you really aren't putting forth anything more than a "wouldn't it be cool if..." type of suggestion and expecting others to fill in the details.

I take it you never saw the Tamers on UO? Guys walking around with 4 or 5 dragons, owning some of the toughest spawns around because they could. Very unbalanced in the game, they had to limit the amount of "pets" which tamers could have because of it, as well as putting other restrictions on them. Been a couple of years since I was on UO, wonder how much they've changed.

Summoning is scheduled for a future update, but I doubt it will involve getting/taming a monster and leveling it with you, just a 1 summon and go thing IMO.

My point is though, if Jagex is planning on summoning I don't believe they'd implement pets as well.

And would there be special balls that you'd keep your pets in? And they wouldn't ever really die, but they'd "faint"? And there could be big houses in the wildy like Duel Arenas that you'd fight your pets in...

Sarcasm aside, it would be pretty awesome to have a pet dragon to set loose on people.
