March 10, 200620 yr 1. your word(s) 2. What kind of game :-? Different types require different code... 3. Er, like in #1?
code goes here
As for the main Q, only way is to open it in a video editor of sorts (i don't know what you'd use) and try to remove the sound. Other than that, no idea.
March 10, 200620 yr Author thanx for ur help =) well the game url is: http://www.madnesstemple.com/dodgethedot/ that help ^?
March 10, 200620 yr *sigh* this is why I don't like the tip.it censor sometimes :x I'd give you a link so you can right-click and save the swf file but the censor changes it to something stupid  So you'll have to do that yourself... Once you got the swf file upload it to your webhot. then just throw this stuff in a html document and put it in the same directory as the swf file. original @ madnesstemple and be sure to replace "[Flash file (possibly contains virus)]" with "dodgethedot.swf" censor is screwing it up like i said :P That or you could be a bandwidth theif and do the dishonest thing which is this... Except you replace "[Flash file (possibly contains virus)]" with "http://www.madnesstemple.com/dodgethedot/dodgethedot.swf"
March 10, 200620 yr Author hey man i tried and its not working... Your probs right thou but i just dnt understand what to do or im not doin it right lol soz :( any1 else help me - the idiot.
March 10, 200620 yr Author ur way of stealing bandwitdth and hosting it works but id rather not to it thta way lol... can u maybe explain the other way a bit ore simplistic?
March 11, 200620 yr For muting video, see this page, specifically the "mute" param. To download the SWF file right-click .com/rarqe]here and click Save Target/Link As. Save it with the extension ".swf". You can then do as darkrick said; upload it to your webhost and embed it as you would normally.
March 11, 200620 yr Author the mute thing still didnt work lol :( and the thing about the game didnt work either... i think its becasue to host the game or a video for that matter it has to be on the internet and not on my computer. so by downoading the swf file that means its not on the internet and on my computer instead... thta make sense?
March 11, 200620 yr and the thing about the game didnt work either... i think its becasue to host the game or a video for that matter it has to be on the internet and not on my computer. so by downoading the swf file that means its not on the internet and on my computer instead... thta make sense? That's why you're being told to upload it to your webhost.
March 11, 200620 yr A company/person that hosts a website. If you have a website then you have a webhost.
March 11, 200620 yr Author but the thing is with my website i cant put videos or games on it that arnt on another site already... so by saving the swf file on my p.c it doesnt work as its not on another site. P.S what can happen if i use the other method and steal bandwidth from the original site the game is on? can my site be taken down or anything?
March 11, 200620 yr but the thing is with my website i cant put videos or games on it that arnt on another site already Then you should find a better one. P.S what can happen if i use the other method and steal bandwidth from the original site the game is on? can my site be taken down or anything? Depends on the policies of your webhost, and whether or not the person your stealing from finds out and complains. Whoever is hosting it most likely pays, and likely won't be happy with paying for you to have a website. Back to your muting question, I got bored and made a little example page which works in both Firefox and Internet Explorer (for great justice). March 11, 200620 yr Author but the thing is with my website i cant put videos or games on it that arnt on another site already Then you should find a better one. Well this site is __MYsp4c3.chom__, its just a site where u go and meet ppl and make a profile... u can personalize it in anyway [eg. putting games and vids on it] so thats why i was kinda hoping to ssort it out for that site ans gte it to work. and cheers for the example wiht the mute... IT WORKS NOW!!! cheers :D
March 13, 200620 yr Ergh if you'd just said you were using myspace at the start this would've been a lot easier. myspace isn't a webhost as such. If you're worried about them not liking your hotlinking, you could just link to the site like this: Check out this awesome game! And then visitors to your space just click on that to play the game. Where the bloody hell are you?
March 14, 200620 yr Then you're going to need to get a real web host. That or steal bandwidth.... which a lot of people seem to have no problem doing :\
March 14, 200620 yr i spose but i would far rather have it on hosted on my site.a myspace page is NOT your website, it is merely an online profile which you can edit. March 14, 200620 yr Author well ok but i still would like to host the game on it... i have done other games but i cnat get this one to work :(
March 15, 200620 yr well ok but i still would like to host the game on it... i have done other games but i cnat get this one to work :( You CANT host a game there, you have NOT hosted a game before. You may have been able to embed it somehow hosted from somewhere else thereby stealing bandwith but you certainly did not host it yourself. March 15, 200620 yr yes, that is the flash game you are using from another website, it is not actually hosting the game down your end, but simply acts as a kind of relay, taking bandwidth from the source with no source of profit. You cannot actually host your own game.
March 16, 200620 yr Well if thats the code you used before and it works, why dont you use it again just change the location of the flash file? Perhaps it doesnt work because they have blocked bandwidth leechers? Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape.
