Quer_Skulll
Well it's been a long while since i've last posted my work here.. half year i think? actually it's been long since i last posted at all, so to fill that gap for the people i know that are still here, i've been snowboarding giving lessons even for the past couple o' months. but i'm back for now and i'm going to show a revised wip version of a snowboarder i did about 1.5 years ago? NEW: any tips or w/e are welcome. Old for comparison thingy as you can see i only alterd the colors and i'm going to alter the logo into my own, see top right of the new version (my two logo's, they have meanings) now my very old wip of half year ago.. that i never had a background idea for.. perhaps you do? and a new wip that i started today (allong with the new snowboarder) it's some scenery with a "holy tree" in a "holy lake' actually just some tree in a lake.. but it sounds more appealing :P still to add, flamingo, some other colorfull bird, grassland, exotic animals. Lowgravity
Hey Quer you never come around here anymore :P ONTO THE CRITS! Personally I prefer your old snowboarder, the colours are more natural and it's overall nicer too look at, even though the revamped one is technically alot better, but because of the dynamid lighting and alot of dithering with no background makes it look very odd, especially since the background is white! The other old WIP is really nice, even though it's a bit dark hehe. Anyway you should come round here more and let us know what your doing! Good work. Lowgravity, I want to be just like you. But...I never will be as 1337 as you. :(
knives669
I like the colors for the new snowboarder. :D As for the old WIP, I have an idea for a background. ^_^ I think the characters should be in a tavern-like setting, with people partying and having a good ole time! terley
Your work is generally good Quer, but I'd love to see a bit more commitment to one piece, don't decide on a background after you've made the characters cus your then stuck to that certain character pose/angle, too late to change the idea, have it planned from the start and stick to it. Im guessing you draw out most your pictures before hand, so my advice would be to be certain on a background . How you create it is up to you. Your characters are still very nice, but it seems like your clinging on to the past, I remember when I first saw these characters, then the second time, for the third and so on ... But yeah they still impress me, your new versions are very interesting and capture a greater atmosphere but with the snowboarder may be seen as too dull, he still needs more colour contrast, bolder colours in some places, put some life into his face. I'd definately love to see some new stuff from you Quer, you introduced me to pixeling, and im sure you've still impress us all. Watch out tho, these new pixelers are scarin the begee's outa me.. :o Such potential.. (begee's??)
Quer_Skulll
ello LG nice to be seeing you here :) well we differ in opinion with the snowboarder, but thats what opinions are for :) let me make something clear btw.. the "go" with the snowboard is the theme night-time-winter-sport, it's something new at some place where people board at night with some lights. so that explains the colors a bit. and your o-so very right about that background LG. very good idea knives. terley- i'm not a planning sort of guy i draw losely on the comp and paper, no longer in ages have i scanned in or pre-drawn on paper and well clinging on to the past.. perhaps, i don't know, i think i'm just to lazy to start anything new for showing here. besides that tree that is.. o and i never really plan anything i just think .. tree, nature, freedom and then i start and lose myself in the currents of my soul. ofcourse this costs me some/allot productivity but i'd rather enjoy it. :D i have made other drawings tho besides these but there more personal, to personal to show here.. your very right about the snowboarder but well i forgot to mention in earlier post that the atmosphere was going to be(maybe never to be finished..) night-time.. maybe i will bring some new stuff, but for now i'm hoping on the tree in the lake to be my rock-on. going to make some changes now cheers.
