Protecting your password

Featured Replies

Hi,

I was reading the news (like a lot of people should) on the password safety.

Then it hit me, why not make it so that ANY change that is made to your account (password, recovery questions etc.) will be e-mailed to your e-mail account that you signed up with.

I mean, I've noticed people don't take good care of their rs passwords but their e-mail passwords seem to be diffrent.

i agree with the idea

that way youll always know what youre password is and no one could change it with out you knowing, unless of course you lost youre e-mail address...

Happy mail account hijacking!

yea it would mess things up, people would be sending fake e-mails everywhere.

i don't see why so many people put such stupid passwords on their accounts, for example my friend got his pass guessesd, i asked what his old pass is, he said it was his user name ( ), btw he changed it now of course.

personally my password consists of: 3 diffrent languages, around 6 numbers, a sentence that is not only unguessable by far but is a diffrent language every letter consisting with the 3 that i know off, and is followed by lots of letters.

now, if everyone were to make a password somewhat similar to those rules there would be no password guessing.

that would solve pass guessing but not keylogging :?

still, the message thing would mess everything up because of all the fake e-mails

uhm... hotmail accounts are way more easy to hack then rs accounts... (if the owners arnt stupid) and if they hack my hotmail... they could just ask jagex for my rs pass etc... and that wouldnt be rlly smart...
