xn00bxfrei
Heya, most of you probably don't know me -- I have been playing RuneScape for almost 5 years now, and always been reading ScapeBoard/Tip.it, but very seldomly do I post. A couple years ago I wrote a little ArenaScape-like clone, and lately been working to expand that project into a full Flash-Game. So what I am doing, is writing a mixture of RuneScape and ArenaScape like game, in Macromedia Flash (with PHP/mySQL backend, for the technical interested). I am already over 99% done with all the code and content needed; such as a login system, monster and item databases, and all the code needed for fighting etc, and interacting with the Flash game. However, I am really, really bad at drawing/doing Pixels. So now, I am looking for someone (or more then one, the more the merrier ;) to help me with the Flash Graphics needed. What I need exactly is someone to draw/pixel (however you want to call it) different pieces of armor/weapons, characters and monsters (possibly even combat animations) in Flash. If anyone feels that they could do this (or parts of it), please either post here or PM me on forums. I can not offer any RL $$ for this unfortunatly, but if someone is wiling to put some effort into it, I might feel compelled to give them a gift in RS (besides giving them credit when the game is done). pjtomboy
I can't make it animated, but I will be willing to help draw what I can, if this is even the least bit useful.
xn00bxfrei
Thanks for the first offers ^^ The only thing that is really really a requirement is that these things be drawn in Macromedia Flash. I can not work with anything saved in BMP/JPG/PNG format, and will need the .FLA so I can incorporate it into the game. There is a few technical reasons for this; first of normal graphics would make the game WAY WAY WAY too big. Secondly, if they are done in Flash, I can just use the weapons/armors (for example) on characters to 'dress them up'. So by all means, if you can do any small parts of this in Flash, go ahead and let me know! I'd appreciate it a lot!

xn00bxfrei
why use flash.. why not use isometric rpg style pixel art to get it done right. if it were i'd be able/willing to help you.. but then again i can't since i'm already hired for a project. but i'd be able to give some graphical tips. or are you just talking about icons :? You can use isometric style pixel art in Flash (as far as I understand it from a few tutorials I looked at). Flash is just my choice for now, as it is fairly easy to work with; both from the graphic as well as the scripting perspective. The only better alternative would be to code an entire Client in C++ and use DirectX, however I have to admit, that is way over my head from the graphics point of view for me. Secondly, Flash or Java are the only ways to really make a browser-based graphical game, everything else would require the users to download exectuables; not exactly something I wanted to do. Anyways, I would be glad for any help, wether it be tips, links to some good tutorials (I've already read a lot and starting to get used to the idea of doing it all myself, but if you have some favorite sites, by all means let me know), small icons, single pieces of armor/weaponry, some monsters, or whatever you would like to do. xn00bxfrei
Flash can be downloaded at: http://www.macromedia.com/cfusion/tdrc/ ... t=flashpro However, it is a 30-day Trial. If you want to use it after that, you have to pay to register it. A little thing to point out, if you are attending school or college, most schools have a license agreement with Macromedia (as well as Microsoft), that lets their student register their products with an Educational License, so you could ask to get one for free. At this point, I pretty much still do need everything. This includes weapons and armorpieces from Bronze to Dragon, much like in RuneScape. And any monsters you would like to draw as well. Remember that these need to be drawn right into Flash, and then just save the file with the SAVE option (you will get a .FLA file). Do not export it (you can but to use the pictures/animations I will need the .FLA file). Thanks in advance for any help guys!
