April 8, 200620 yr Whilst standing in Falador bank, thinking what to do next, I decided I would see what this Temple-trekking mini game was all about. OK - first I must complete the quest, which I duly did. Once completed I went to the Burg de Rott bank withdrew my trusty rune armour and dragon longsword, a few super potiuon, a few prayer potions (just in case), and some food. Now to find someone to escort. Now what - choose a route - so I chose the easiest, just to see what this was all about. No problems, delivered the person sfely to the temple with no real problem. But, hey, only got 5 coal and 5 iron ore for my trouble. That was too easy, so I thought I would live up to my name and take the hardest route next time - what a mistake to make! I started the escort, suddenly I was accosted by 3 giant snails (I think), and before I realised what had hit me I had lost 30% of my hit points with one attack. OK- no panic - just put on protect from melee. Bang! second hit - too lte did I realise thst the attacks must be magic - another 30% lost. Before I had a chance to change my protect I was hit again and found myself waking up in sunny Falador, minus most of my rune armour. Now you may be thinking - what a noob. But no I am level 94 with attack and defence of 75 (upgraded with super potion), strength of 77 upgraded with super potion) and hit points of 78, so I thought I stood a good chance against most enemies - I regularly fight greater demons and blue and bronze dragons (and beat them!). Hiwever, it appears that the enemies on route 3 are well above these. The moral of this sorry tale - don't take route 3 unless you feel like being humiliated and losing your equipment, or are much higher that lev 94.
April 9, 200620 yr or you know what the monsters attacks are and can pray against them...i suggest waiting till more knowledge is available about what happens on the hardest route.
April 9, 200620 yr The snails attack with range... my ring of life saved me the first time I ran into them. I do think there should be a bit of warning before five level 100+ monsters in a multicombat area attack you with range at the same time.
April 9, 200620 yr Author TeeBeaun - yes but someone has to go there first to gather the information Beigo - Not melle, then either magic or range 50/50 chance - obviously got it wrong!!! and yes perhaps there should be warnings posted on the route to let you know what you can expect
April 9, 200620 yr lvl 3 route is pretty annoying, but you find tricks to it my snail first task was a * and almost killed me had i not had my trusty guthans and obby sheild and 17 sharks :) found out they used range at like 47hp (2 sharks) lol I'm 106 and I'd do it if it wasn't for what Reb posted... If Reb jumped off a cliff, would you follow him? Who wouldn't?
April 9, 200620 yr I don't see why everyone complains about the snails, think to yourself for a moment, does that look like melee to you? No, mage is a bit more understandable, until you notice that those are balls of slime. Or you could have read the guide in the quide on the runescape site itself. It tells you about all the monsters you encounter. :) The real thing I hate about route three, is that no matter how good you are, you can still lose if your npc is a moron. Take for example this incident, I was fighting the sea monster, my guy gets attacked (not too surprising, as there are 5 things that attack you there.) So as always, I quickly kill the tentacel attacking him, and he then wanders into the path of two other. By this time, there is no way of saving him That is just the most irritating, once he walking right up to 4 of the shades in one of the encounters, and got himself killed in less than a seconed. And, you can use food on these guys to heal them. :) "Those who know nothing, can understand nothing" - Ansem, Kingdom Hearts
