I think the reason Jagex can't easily update player owned houses is because they've limited them too much. They've allocated memory for exactly 20 rooms in every member account, and each room is allocated the exact same amount of memory. You might have noticed that for most objects in a house you have a choice between 3 things to build or 7 things to build (eg. 3 types of cat blankets, 7 types of stoves). This means that they use 2 bits of memory or 3 bits of memory respectively to store this data (2^2=4, 2^3=8, the extra choice being not having anything built at all). They are obviously trying to keep the memory needed to store each room small, but it makes it very difficult to add in more options later, since anything added means extra bits, and I'm guessing there isn't any extra space in memory available for most rooms without increasing the size of each room. So the easiest thing to add to construction would be entirely new rooms (like this costume room). I'm guessing they realized the limit of 20 rooms would make people very annoyed by a new room so now they've got to allocate a lot more space in every account for extra rooms. This is probably why last week's update got delayed. Assuming they only plan to increase the max room count, any suggestions should probably be of new rooms, rather than more items in current rooms, since its probably a lot easier for them to implement.

Path to 80 farming
beigo replied to kevinfangs's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
Good luck with 80 farming! Some tips I would recommend: -Do throne of miscellania and then get your subjects collecting maple logs for you. They get you a lot of tree seeds and you can sell the maples to get your money back. -You can go a lot faster if you pay the gardener 200gp to chop your tree for you, but you won't get the roots or logs then. I started doing this after I filled through 2 inventories of willow logs without cutting the tree down. You may not want to now, but in about 30 levels you might change your mind. For those who think farming is difficult, raising farming takes very little effort compared to other skills, you just need to remember to go plant new stuff every day. Other than that you can just let your plants grow for free experience. -
It's in the knowledge base now, none of the current levels for prayers have changed. The highest new prayers: Eagle Eye level 45 Increases your Ranged by 15% Mystic Might level 45 Increases your Magic by 15%

Got a iron dragon assignment and didn't have any chaos runes, so I followed your guide to melee them... seemed to work pretty well thanks!

I noticed the higher attack speed so I tried using my lower enchanted bolts with it and they didn't work. I think the knowledge base is lying again.

This is the pouch used to hold crossbow bolts, it holds up to 255 of four types of bolts (it won't hold bolt racks or grappling hooks though). I've added the same type of bolt twice. The dwarf in Keldagrim who sells crossbows will sell it to you for 1500gp if you talk to him. He is at one of the stalls in the big building. Don't steal from him if you want to buy something though.
-
Orange still doesn't change my construction level (tried 3 stews just now).
-
This is the falador shortcut on the north wall east of the park. Grappling hook is mithril and requires 1 bar and 59 smithing to make. You need to attach a mithril bolt and then a rope to it. They aren't tradable, I don't think you can trade just the hook part either. To use it you need a crossbow equipped.

my road to all stats 60+ *update 60 rc*
beigo replied to andybrann's topic in BlogScape (Ongoing Progress Reports and Goals)
Good luck, I've been doing the same thing, but haven't really made it a priority. It just happened after going to tears of guthix enough times. -
I was bored so I did this: Took me 6 stews with 3 orange spice each to get the +5. I have not seen +6 in any stat yet, I think the formula is really 2*(# of spice)-1. Also construction level didn't change at all, orange spicy stews don't affect it. I'm looking forward to planting my Spirit tree in a couple levels :)
-
Nice amount of bird eggs you got too, if only they had a use. I'm up to 3 spirit seeds myself, 2 from my kingdom. At 78 farming I'm going to grow a spirt tree using some spicy stew :).

1) c. 63-81 2) b. I just sell my potions to people. 3) c. I want the xp. The high herby level will bring me enough profit. 4) b. No - I farm herbs and get them from miscellania 5) N/A 6) N/A 7) b. No 8) No idea 9) N/A There you go, I'm a farmer now and I exploit my workers in Miscellania to get both farming and herblore up.

Very nice, I once started doing a calc like this before but got bored and stopped. Looks really good, like how you have pictures of the items too. A couple of features I would recommend adding: -Allow selection of a 'set' like full rune or Ahrim's and make it autoselect the pieces of the set from the combo boxes. -Create a way to select a stat to max (like stab attack) and write an algorithm to search through each equipment type getting the item with the max of that stat.

I thought so too, Jagex wasn't lying when they said it was the most difficult puzzle yet. A lot of fun to figure out, I got a little help but did most of it on my own. I loved doing Desert Treasure too, it was a challenge at level 82 since there were no real guides to help me out a day after it was released. It bothers me that so many people wait for someone else to come up with easy ways to beat these quests, since it takes away the whole challenge.
-
I did a bit of experimenting with them last week (about 4 stews of each color spice) and didn't get construction altered at all, so I don't think they do right now.

Bloodworms dont drop bones, and no bones means no peaches for me! Usually rats with a few skeletons.

Here's the plan for mine, the 2nd portal room and the throne room aren't built yet. I haven't decided on a permanent location for the second bedroom yet either, so its not shown on this. 3 combat rooms and a games room on the 2nd floor, thats the party floor :)

My wonderfull video on how to pk a autoer.
beigo replied to g_unitpk71's topic in General Discussion
I recognize one of those names in the video; I reported him at the willows in lumbridge yesterday. Looks like he graduated to yews before getting banned... I'm not wasting any more time trying to report them since the problem has gotten too large. -
i think yew tree autoers have hit max point here -.-
beigo replied to runescapeloser22's topic in General Discussion
There are over 10 autoers at two willow trees in lumbridge, they can get around most randoms i've seen, the only one I've seen get them is when their axe head falls off. Lumbridge general store has 47000 willow logs in it, some of the autoers are selling them there, others drop them. Probably one of the best locations for cheap firemaking experience right now. -
best holiday event item/what would be best
beigo replied to donutjunkie's topic in General Discussion
Bunny ears, I rarely wear any of the other untradable items. Glad I decided to log on for an hour on Easter 3 years ago. -
I went to barrows the day it came out at about your level. I was lucky I didn't get owned by Dharok, I was using prayer even though people at the time said not to (because it drains fast ). Didn't get anything in like 10 trips though. A couple months later I went back after getting 55 slayer. After over 400 times opening the chest, I have a lot more money than I used to. At least 15 of my last 20 mage levels I got at the barrows too. I have never died there, although my ring of life saved me from certain death a couple times early on. So don't give up on it! Take it one trip at a time at first, once you get the hang of it you won't have any trouble.
