  1. When I start summoning it will cost me somehwere in the region of 0gp. I will train it the same way as any other skill by gathering all the required resources myself (raising other skills at the same time). It may take me quite a while to reach 99, but it will have cost me 0gp.

    Fletching Rant

Yet another rant from a whining fletcher who now has to actually work to make money. The best thing to do with bows you make is, as someone prviously said, to alch them yourself. Even better if you craft your own nats, then you are raising 3 skills at the same time.
  3. Like WOW where their legal  They are NOT legal in WoW, or any other MMORPG for that matter. It's just that the makers of WoW appear not to be as concerned about their game as Jagex.
  4. There will always be people who macro for their own benefit not for RWT.
  5. Something you have made using other skills - pure profit!!!!
  6. When will people get it into their thick skulls that the auoters/gold farmers are not the cause of the RWT problem, but the effect? The only reason the autoers/goldfarmers existed was to support the RWTer's. If Jagex has taken the course to remove skills currently autoed then the autoers/gold farmers would simply have moved to other skills. RWT would still have continued. The only way Jagex could get rid of autoer's/gold farmers is by cutting off the methods the RWT's used to pass the gold onto their customers. Like it, or not, one of the easiest ways to do this was via PKing, which is the main reason PKing and the wilderness HAD to change. Although I do not agree with what Jagex has done, as it has removed one of the "unique" features of RuneScape, I can see the logic in doing what they did.
  7. I am fed up with people saying that Jagex are trying to fix prices using the GE. They are NOT. As I said previously the main reason prices in the GE are not "realistic" is that people are not using the GE. Once the 3K limit trading comes into place then, basically, players will no option but to use the GE. It will be at that point where the GE starts to work as Jagex have designed it.
  8. This website advertising is nothing new, but when all the new updates are finally implemented these will be greatly reduced as the RWTer's won't be able to operate very effectively. Also, a lot of these are scams to enable the "advertiser" to keylog your PC and steal your password. Once they have your password the account is theirs to sell to the highest bidder. The best way to deal with these is to report them - advertising is an instant ban on RS with no appeal (as some people have found out to their cost when advertising this forum).
  9. The reason that GE prices are not reflecting "real" prices is that most people are still trading Yew longs outside the GE. Now, from my observations of the GE it appears that the GE prices are adjusted daily on item selling in the GE only. Thus if no-one sells Yew longs through the GE then the price in the GE will never reflect the "real" price. However, this should change when the new rules come into force next month which will force people to use the GE. This also applies to lots of other items that do not reflect "real" proces. IMO the best way for you to get the GE to reflect "real" prices is to use it for ALL trading. You may take a loss for a while, but eventually the prices will stabalise at around the "real" price.
  10. I'm not afraid of them. Just wary until I find an effective combination of armour/potions to defend myself from them. I have encountered 2 so far, whilst doing clues, both times they killed me by freezing me, poisoning me and then hitting me with 30+ magic and range blasts. I have 89 defence and 91 hitpoints and they rapidly despatched me to my grave.
  11. +1 Merchanting has not died - just changed.
  12. I'm with LCool. I never train new skills until at least a month after the release. This gives me a chance to train some of my other skills like Hunting as the training spots are always soooo empty.
  13. I like the suggestion about un-noting NPC's. Lets have one at every altar - RC skill cape here I come =D>
  14. /sarcasm - and there goes a pig flying past my window /sarcasm Do you really beleive this? :wall: - they DESTROYED pking and duel arena (which also had dedicated worlds) and yet you think they will save your minor law running :wall: Face it - Law running looks like its dead. Law running may be minor to you, but to others it could be very important. I never used any running at all, but I bet jagex will find a way to make it work (maybe). OK - its not minor to some people. BUT the point I am trying to make is that if they effectively destroyed official parts of RS, ie. PKing, then they would see nothing wrong in destroying something that is not an offical part of RS. The only reason there is a Law running world is that the players created one, and Jagex just added it to their list.

  16. RWT can NEVER be totally stopped. Things like account selling will always be possible. However, what you can do is make life so difficult for the RWT's that it is just not worth bothering with. Why bother with RS now when, by all accounts it is easier to RWT in WOW and other MMORPG's. Thes updates by Jagex have removed all the easy ways to RWT leaving the more time consuming ways, which are less profitable for the RWT's and easier to track.
  17. 20 degrees 7 minutes North 18 degrees 33 minutes East Location : Hobgoblin mines most easterly ore rocks. 3 steps west of rock below the most northerly one.
  18. Hmmm, I can tell you I was not obsessed with getting rich quick. But if you can make money twice as fast for less effort, why wouldn't you? I'm sorry that you want to take the boring way out and wc or something. OK apologies for the accusation I made. Actually I can now make money twice as fast for less effort. Its called the Grand Exchange. Thanks to the GE I have been able to sell quickly lots of stuff I had in my bank, but could never be bothered to sell the "traditional" way. I can now also sell items whilst skilling. In fact I am now the richest (in terms of cash) I have ever been in my entire RS life as I now have over 10 million in the bank. Up to the GE I rarely had more than 2 million in the bank.
  19. As some people have said - Why the obsession with acquiring loads of pixels that represent money in the shortest possible time? Its this obsession that has brought us to our current situation. If people did not have this obsession then RWT would not have customers, so they would not exist. If they din't exist then 90% of bot and all gold farmers would not exist. If the autoers/gold farmers did not exist then Jagex would not have need to take the drastic steps they have just taken. So, basically our whole situation is due to people like the author who are obsessed with getting rich quick.
  20. I say keep the randoms, just reduce the frequency. As for Pure Essence. The markets and players have now got used to the this. I am sure that if Jagex reverted back to a single essence you would getpeople moaning for exactly the same reason they moaned when pure essence was created.
  21. Some of you are not reading what the thread poster is saying. Basically he is saying that controversial updates invariably cause a certain percentage of the games population leaving, but at the end of the day THE GAME WILL SURVIVE. Any players leaving will soon be replaced by new players joining who will not know RS befiore the update and be quite happy with what they find. It will be just us oldies (I'm not quitting) that will remind them of what they are missing (just as I do now comparing RSC with RS2).
  22. Player to player trading is not dead, just changed. Basically you will no longer be able to make exhorbitant profits at the expense of other players lack of knowledge of the market, which IMO is a scam anyway. As for the GE - give it time. Prices will rise eventually. It's just that a lot of people still have the get rich quick mindset. What you need now is patience. If everyone put their items for sale at the maximum price and waited until they are sold (may take a day or two) this will be recognised by the GE which will then up the market price. At the moment people are still clearing out rubbish from their banks and, to get a quick sale are pricing everything at the lowest price, so, at the moment the GE is continually lowering prices. What has died is player to player MERCHANTING. The only way to merchant in future will be to use the fluctuations in GE prices to make a profit. Just do as some one suggested, but very large quantities of something you think will rise in price with a few days, and keep them until prices start to rise - you will eventually make a tidy profit. What the update has stopped is your abilty to get rich quick.
  23. Most people have less than ten. I hope bird eggs aren't required to level it, otherwise Summoning will be just another skill that only the lucky or the rich can effectively level. Bird eggs WILL be used in summoning. However, I expect that there will be other ways of getting them, once the skill is released (or even a week or two before the skill is released). It won't be just a skill for the rich and/or lucky :wall:
  24. qeltar - There appears to be one category of RS players that you missed on your list of categories. These are the self-sufficient people who play RS in what I consider to be the traditional way (and the way the game was intended to be played on its conception), ie. using the inter-linking between ALL skills. Example : mine ores (mining exp) - smelt the mined ores (smithing) - make items from the smelted ores (smithing) - high alch the items (Mage exp). Include in this making Natures (runecrafting exp) by either mining the essence (a poor way to get essence) (mining exp) or getting the essence from monster drops (an excellent way of getting essence) (combat exp). Now cut teak logs (woodcutting exp) and make into planks (using money got from above high alching) and use for construction exp. Thus we have 7 skills all raised from one basic action - mine ores. There are lots of other skills linkings that can be applied. This category do not really care about the so-called RS economy and whether it is inflatory or deflatory. as everything they do is independent of the economy. In case you were wondering I fall into this category, and so do, I suspect, many other players. However, having said the above the GE has slightly changed the way I play when it comes to drops. Prior to the GE I would stockpile any drops I got (from slayer tasks) and high alch them when I wanted money for construction, or to buy items from shops that are not worth getting myself, eg balls of wool [the shops update with infinite supplies helped a lot here =D> ]. I did this mainly because I could not be bothered to waste time either getting into world 2, or standing in banks for ages continuously typing, say, "rune legs for sale". Hence, you could quite often see me high alching rune and dragon items. With the advent of the GE I can now easily sell items at greater than high alch price which allows me to do a trade-off increasing Construction (with the increased gp) at the sacrifice of some Mage exp. However, I still don't really care about the prices in the GE because if they get too close to the high-alch I will just resort to my old method of high alching the items.
  25. Actually, I think you will find that it is either a glitch with the GE or the way that it works. I have noticed that if I sell an item in a slot at say, the lowest price, the next item I sell in that slot is automatically priced at the lowest price, ie. the slot "remembers" what you did last time. Also the same happens with maximum price. I don't know if it happens with the market place as I have yet to sell anything at the market value.
