  1. The best and only way to frustrate a scammer is : REPORT THEM
  2. Couldn't be bothered to read this whole post, so apologies if this has been said before. When you milk a cow you get the bucket of milk before you milk it.
  3. ON NO Jagex you;ve just ruined my favourite world (53) by making it a PC world - REMOVE IT AT ONCE :wall: :wall: :wall:
  4. You must see adverts - you just con't take notice of them. Even members see adverts - there is one on Jagex homepage, one of high/low detail chouce screen and one on world select screen
  5. OK - so you like the upadtes, but I don't. I don't play in clans and I don't like most of the minigames therefore for me the updates are rubbish I like, Quests, things to do in skills and good quality monsters (with good drops) to fight, I am sure there are a lot of people like me whi also think the updates are rubbish. Come on, surely there is more than 1 person who doesn;t like the updates so far. Basically it boils down to the fact that Jagex cannot please everyone, as has been pointed out many times on this forum,
  6. Sorry - must disagree with you (and obviously the majority of the forum). IMO the main updates so, far have been rubbish. Clan Chat - rubbish - just so the children in their little elite clques can talk to each other :wall: Themed worlds - whats the point - it only produces uneven usage of the servers - we will soon have rants like - "I can't get onto world so-and-so Jagex MUST provide more worlds" (even when there are other non-themed worlds available) or "Stupid Jagex I can't get onto my Home world now" The only good thing so far is the Trade chat, but that is only a very minor upgrade. Now, if Jagex were to have released the God dungeon, a thought-provoking/hard/long quest and some sorely needed skill updates (especially to the higher levels) I would be jumping up and down cheering.
  7. Why is everyone ruled by the mighty round gold pixel thing? The effect of Jagex selling gold would have no effect on people like me I get all my own resources to make items to level skills. The results of which I either use (eg. potions, arrows, etc), alch (initially low, now high) or sell to shops if alching is not worth it. In fact I treat gp as simply yet another resource to gather to level a skill (construction). Until construction came out I never really bothered about gold. I very rarely trade and even then only in small numbers if I spot someone wanting something I have a lot of. When I do trade I am not too worried about how much gold I get, so long as I consider it a suitable amount. in fact in a lot of cases I just give the stuff away Personally if (and its a big if) Jagex decided to sell gold to undercut the autoers/gold farmers to remove them from the game, I would let out a great big cheer as I could then gather my resources without fighting autoers for them. This would greatly improve my personal enjoyment of the game as I am fed up with having to compete with the likes of 20 autoers around the yews near the crafting guild (and other places).
  8. You won't find it any better on members. There are hordes of autoers etc. around the yews in Varrock and around Falador. I counted 20 the other day on the Yews near the crafting guild.
  9. 89 - Hit Points - just a result of combat 87 Attack, Strength and Defence - like to keep even - a result of Slayer and killing for seeds etc. 84 - Range and Mage - range due to slayer and mage mainly due ti high alching Highest non-combat stat is Mining at 83
  10. Its not a dumb rule. The reason the rule exists is to protect players from scamming/keylogging etc. web sites set up by unscrupulous people. I do agree that reporting someone for saying Tip.it (or even, dare I say it, RuneHQ) is acting like a mod wannabe. Personally, if I see someone mention Tip.it (or Rune HQ) I normally give them a friendly warning about the rule so that they can avoid getting into trouble from wannabe mods. Sometimes, when I do this I get a lot of verbal abuse from the player concerned, then they get a double report, one for advertising and one for abusive language.
  11. I suspect a large number were indeed macroers as I have noticed a distinct lack of macroers around today. For instance on World 53 for the last couple of weeks you could guarantee at least 6 macroers at the Crafting Guild tews, at least 4 around each yew tree south of Falador and at 10 in the flax field. Today there are NONE.
  12. Canifis and the area around is actually a candidate for its own acievement diary (plenty there for all levels).
  13. How about spotting someone who is not autoing at the Yews behind the palace? , or how about report 100 autoers at the same trees? Seriously hard tasks could perhaps be : Plant a magic tree (need fairly high farming for that) Use the Spirit tree just north Museum kudos Use shortcut to Edgeville dungeon
  14. I have in fact noticed this. I actually coded the whole script for all three of those maps (for the links inside the image, not the list - someone else did that), and I checked them before I sent them off to be be uploaded onto the site, and they worked fine and were in their correct postions. I've talked to a few of my friends with different browsers, and they're saying the hyperlink works fine and the hyperlink is actually dead on the circle. You're saying it's to the left, my one has it slightly above the dot. I can only presume that the differentiation occurs when different browsers are used. I am working on correcting this and making sure the code is XHTML compliant so the hyperlinks are in their correct position. Failing that, I'll seek further guidance on why it's behaving like a stubborn child. Until then, you'll just have to bare with us. I wouldn't have submitted this unless I was 100% certain this error wouldn't have occured. Clearly, I was wrong, but I had that confidence. The problem might also have something to do with screen resolutions. Anyway I would prefer the list option as it is. Using the open another window is annoying to me as I tend to use either IE7 or Firefox that uses tabbed browser technology and I like to keep everything in one window.
  15. Yes I do think that Jagex should return all items lost due to a bug in their software. The fairest way to do this is to roll back the game to a point where the glitch did not exist. This will avoid fake claims like "I lost xxx due to your glitch". However, the downside would be that EVERYONE will lose ANYTHING they gained from the time the glitch was introduced.
  16. Off Topic - hence my thread "Will gold farmers be the downfall of RuneScape?" On Topic: Macroers are only good for thiose players that want to get to 99 in certain skills (ie. cooking, fletching etc.) very quickly. This is because they tend to keep the cost of raw materials down due to the large numbers being produced. Hence, the ever growing devaluation of the Skill Capes in these skills. I feel sorry for all the old-timers who got, for example 99 fletching, by cutting and then fletching their own materials as there efforts do not now get the recognition they desrve. However, to those people that either gather resources to sell, or merchants the macroers are runing their livlihoods because they flood the markets with lots of cheap materials. In addition to the effects on the RS economy macroers spoil the whole gameplay for people like myself who pride themselves in being self-sufficient, ie. if we want some cooked shark we go fish them and then cook them to use. The macroers mean that it is extremely difficult to get certain materials, such as Yews (even in P2P). In fact if Jagex do not soon get on top of the problem I shall be one of the people mentioned above cancelling their subscription and leaving the game.
  17. I believe we are close to that now. On the world I use most often (World53) the number of people logged in after midnight (UK time) used to drop to around 500-600. Now this world has consistently over 1000 logins after midnight. This means that this world probably already has around 400-500 gold farmers on it. I am sure this is not an isolated incident. [quote name="WookieeMania12"The problem with this issue is that many people ignore the issue' date=' hoping that Jagex will do it all. They fail to realize that people need to help report these bots (in other words, being good customers). I seem to think most people are lazy..... Jagex is aware of this issue and I don't believe they are covering up the issue; we just gotta report these autoers everytime we think someone with a funky lvl 3 character named "Zu Fang 0o0o01" is macroning, its just a click away to that report abuse button[/quote] I totally agree with your comments here. Many times I have asked people to help me report obvious gold farmers only to get answers like "I'm too busy", "What's the point - nothing is ever done about them", etc. I think Jagex should inform us more on their progess against this plague then perhaps some of the doubters will actually start reporting. That is the sentence that jumped out at me. Why is it that only the merchanters are screaming the loudest? Merchanting is a lot tougher now because of all the bots. I was not referring to merchants. The phrase "doom and gloom merchant" is a common english expression meaning someone who predicts that bad things are going to happen.
  18. This is written from the perspective of P2P. What has prompted me to create this thread is that over the past weeks I have noticed a very large increase in ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Ågold farmersÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  19. All this talk about autoers/macroers/gold farmers and their effect on RS always evolves round their effect on the "precious" RS economy. No-one has hit on the the "real" problem. This problem is that each of the cheaters uses up a space on the RS server making one less space for a genuine player. If the number of these cheaters keeps increasing at the current rate it will soon be impossible to find a world to log in to.
  20. I joined P2P for ALL of the reasons given - there should be an "All of the above" option. I only stayed F2P for about a month before I became hooked on the game and wanted more.
  21. The items kept on death are ALWAYS the three most expensive items at RS shop prices. Thats it, plain and simple. So basically this update is a waste of time and effort, unless TB@JT are planning to use it so that you can select what you want to keep when you die.
  22. These new ads are REALLY irritating and they drive my anti-virus and anti-spyware software mad. I am seriously thinkung about dumping Tip-It for a forum that does not have these ads.
  23. I didn't vote because my option was not there. I would invite all those rich [bleeps] to an auction fot it and then alch it right in front of their eyes
