Kings Mill Toastie Bread, Wont Fit In My Toaster??

Featured Replies

MMM, bread... im in my local shop and i decide this week ill be healthy and get 'Whole Grain' bread... i pick the usual 'Kings mill' After all, i have developed brand loyalty, and i know that this is the best

Not really paying much attention to the packet to throw it in the trolley and continue on

LAter that night i go to have some toast, I take the bread, it is only now i realise it is 'Designed for toast'

I take it out, it looks nice, smell nice.. is nice... i put it into my toaster, only to find the dam things to long. I tip it sideways, the dam things still to long... So i put it back up right and cook it anway, top up..

I wait.. 3 mins later its cooked, i take it out.. and guess what i see?

3/4 cooked toast... 1/4 slightly warm

To me, this is not 'TOasted design bread'. I am very disapointed at Kings mill, after all i have been a loyal buyer of 5 years... I could understand if it wass 'extra thick' Or 'extra long' But this was even 'TOastie bread'...

Sorry, random comment on my experience with a mislead bread

Warning: Check the size of your toaster before purchasing this bread!

Maybe it was your toaster.

One thing I think is pointless are the small packs of Warburton's toastie bread - the slices are no thicker than normal...

I like to have smoked salmon pate on Warburton's super toastie. A pack of bread containing something like 10 slices it's so thick.

Some people are changed by being a moderator. I wouldn't be.

That's too bad! Our old toaster couldn't fit bagels.

My toaster is pretty good, but occasionally i will have to use the grill on the oven if i want to do a lot of something or if its too fat for the toaster slots.

There's nothing wrong with the old grill ^_^ In fact, if you grill the bread close to the bacon, a bit of the bacon's flavour gets onto the toast which makes it extra yummy.

eggy bread is cool too, but you cant do that in a toaster. Never tried on a grill but i guess it might be possible?

Haven't you got to soak it in egg in the frying pan?

Anyways:

I've noticed that "Extra Thick" bread is pointless. I went to my friends house a week or two ago and made some toast, using the "Extra Thick Bread"... I took it out of the toaster, ready to butter it. Spread the butter on, and as I pressured the bread with my knife, it just flattened. I was all "What.. The... ? It's like a puffy yorkshire pudding that pops when you poke it" It was quite a let-down.

NEVER BUY EXTRA THICK! It only dissapoints you. :(
