Can I just teach you something quickly?

 

 

That, is a colour wheel.

 

The colours near together are complimentary (i.e. Red and yellow, orange.) they look good together and blend well.

 

The colours opposing (i.e. blue and yellow, Bart Simpson for example.) are clashing colours they work well together but don't usually blend. Often used to make the other colour stand out.

 

Now look where red and green are on the wheel. They are neither close to gether nor clashing. This, usually, means they will just clash horribly and not blend well at all.
