MeXe
This is a tutorial on how to make sw33t borders. It works better on bigger sigs, but it looks ok on small ones. Step 1 Take the image that you want to put a border on. I used part of an old render. Step 2 Ok now right click the lasso tool and select the option Polygon Lasso . Step 3 Select the outline of what you want the border to look like, for straighter lines select the shift key. Now go to select, then press inverse. Make a new layer then fill in the area with white. Step 4 Change the foreground color to a light shade of gray, and the background to a dark shade of gray . Now go to Layer, Layer Style, Bevel and Emboss. . Leave those settings as they are, but click on gradient overlay, then change the gradiant to Foreground to Background. Also set the angle to -90 for a better look. Then click on stroke and set the size to 1 and the color to black Slap on some text, and you have yourself a nice sig :D. Here is what I came out with: If you have any questions, just post them right here.
Jlr
Pretty good tut, you left it very basic and easy to understand. The pictures pretty much explain how to make the boarder by themselves. You should maybe add on there how to make a transparent boarder. very good job  Jamie

Keiphus
Could use a noise filter with a motion blur to make it look more like metal.... right now just looks like a b&w gradient... (which it is) Before and After
Led-Zeppelin
Very nice tut *gets on PS to do it*. Seen one similar on http://www.good-tutorials.com but this one is easier ;). The one I tried before had it's own metal texture, but I can't get it to work :(.

Led-Zeppelin
This is what I managed to produce, didn't follow the guide at all though, lol. My first sig ever made: Little bit too big though, so I'll have to save it as a .gif insted.
