Fundamental basics of an interactive city:

Runescapes city's are quite a drag, stagnant, lifeless places', almost no one actively explore these lairs, except for the newbies who doesn't understand the shallow dullness of Runescapee's city's.

Lets take varrock for example.

Subjects of interest for the comment players.

1.two banks and easy accessibility to the wilderness.

2.2. church to recharge prayer

3.Staff shop that is almost always out of battlestaves and rune store that is sold out

4.Various other shops that aren't ever really used aka.

A.Sword shop B. Archery shop

Yay now I'm a member and the Woot I can now fletch arrows

addy long is finally in stock!! lets go buy some from this shop instead

Now i would like to say that for f2p players these shops are really just fine. People are still learning the game and really need these shops to see what items are in the game and how to use them. What i am talking about is for the members who just walk through the town and don't really go to it to have fun. When was the last time you heard ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åoh man Varrock has some hawt training places!̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ

Yes, I really want a realistic city.

yeah the ones we have really couldn't support people... :?

i should make a list of shops that every town should have in addition to the stuff that i already mentioned

I am a supporter of expanding exisiting content, rather than spewing more junk out the ol' update team machine, i agree with you on making better cities :D The cities of runescape are more like tiny hamlets :? The "grand" palace of varrock is barely bigger than my 2 story split house.

making random rpc wouldn't be too hard...just add a whole bunch more human npc's and set their wander zones really big.

the gossip thing would go to waste, i think, because noone really bother to talk to npc's most of the time anyway.

I think each major city should be completely surrounded with wall, and when you enter through a gate, it loads a new playfield, like when you go into a dungeon. For some reason that just makes sense to me

Anyway, a good idea with lots of potential!

i agree, at the moment when i go to Varrock (which isnt very often anymore) It is to sell items in nonmember worlds (i usually go world 2 fally) Or to mine essence, oh and barrow trips. I never go to see whats happening in Greater Varrock or to site-see, its pretty boring really. Most of the cities could do with some updates :)

Currently not active on RuneScape.

yeah.the cities seem very small & boring.at least a couple places where ya can get rewards for doin stuff for random npcs(kind of like the old dude in draynor) such as killing off the giant rat population in their basement, gettin a cure poison pot for their sick kid, helpin em add onto their house, & other stuff.& doing these little things can affect how the town looks to you (1st would make some storage, 2nd would give a helper/follower, 3rd would give a store).also, make it so that ya gotta every now & then help defend the place from monsters based on yer combat lv & combat type.doing the miniquests & defending the place gives ya additional bonuses too (like better visuals, better shops, reduced prices, rep)
