tunaboy692004
prepare for the worst before it happens, because you may not get a chance after it does... Step-1: Make sure you have an active firewall at all times, i use Zonealarm and norton. Step-2: Make sure you have an active virus scanner, i use Avg free and Norton internet security Step-3: Make sure you have a spywear scanner (Not a virus scanner), I use Spybot S&D Step-4: Download Hijack This, I also Use this Step-5: Make sure you check weekley, or at least monthley for updates for all your antivirus programs, you will need them considering there is new bugs/viruses out every day! Step-6: Make sure you scan your computer with antivirus and spyware scanner every two weeks, i personally scan once a week. Step-7: Make sure you do not download any programs you may not trust, and if you do download them MAKE SURE YOU SCAN THEM! Step-8: Create a system restore point, incase worst comes to worst you can restore your system, Do this by Going start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->System Restore, then click on create a restore point Step-9: Make sure you are familiar with all your programs, so if you need help you wont be completly illiterate If you think something is wrong follow the following steps Step-10: Scan your computer with your spywear scanner and fix all spywear Step-11: Scan your computer with your antivirus, and hope that fixes the problem Step-12: Open highjackthis and scan and save a log Step-13: Most likley you wont understand this, then send it to someone who will understand it and ask them to tell you what to erase Step-14: If that doesnt work then use the system recovery tool Step-15: If none of that works, you can try repeating steps 9-14, and if they dont work again, your probley going to have to reformat Current Goals80/80 Fletching60/75 Woodcutting97/100 Combat
weezcake
1. You should never use two anti-viruses together. They won't get along. 2. I'm not sure, but I don't think you should be using two firewalls either. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring. Mercifull
You shoudlnt really use two software firewalls together but a hardware (on router) and a software one together work ok. Albosky
Having 2 installed and using them individually to scan works fine Having more then one set to actively scan full time is a very bad idea , its been known to cause alot of write errors on your hard disc if they both simultaneously detect and try to remove an infected file(s) I like to fart silently but deadly in movie theatersArd Choille says (11:41 PM):I wouldn't dare tell you what to do m'dear
